Soooo.... it's been a few months since I've applied for a card and, for the first time since I got in with AMEX, I'm showing preapproval for all of their cards.
Yes, even their core cards.
I started with an AMEX Gold, then got a Hilton Honors (base level), and a Delta Platinum card. One card that has alluded me that I wanted (manly because of the AF) was the Marriott Bonvoy card (at the time was a $450 AF.) I now see they split the Marriott to a "Bevy" card ($250 AF) and "Brilliant" card at $650. So I've been eyeing the Bevy.
However, I've also been curious about the Core cards... specifically the Blue Cash Preferred.
Would love to hear the feedback from anyone who has an AMEX Core card and/or the Bevy card. With me starting a new business, I feel like the traveling I'll be doing, the Bevy card could be beneficial... but none the less, would love to hear everyone's take.
Time to garden for a while after this... looking to go for a mortgage in the next 12-18 months and my AAoA has taken a hit lately. ![]()

I like the Blue Cash Everyday card, with the 3% cashback on online retail purchases.

I do love the BCP, it was my 3rd Amex out of 4. Before I had the BBP, I used it as a bottom catcher for situations where I didn't have a multiplier. The 3% at gas stations is nice, I actually have a country store by my house that sells gas as well, and everything in there rings up as a gas station so its pretty clutch. If you are looking for something specifically for travel rewards, there are better options out there. You can take a shot for both, I believe Amex lets you open one card every 5 days with 2 in 90. So if its been over 90 days since your first card, you can possibly get two cards in the next 5 days. Subsequent cards with Amex should also be a soft pull (can be hard, but that is more the exception than the rule), so you have nothing to lose.
If you are going to make proper use of both of them the total $350 AF should be easily offset. Not sure if they are still waiving the first year AF on the BCP anymore though.

Thanks for the feedback- I ultimately pulled the trigger on the BCP to make it my first "Official" AMEX Core Card (before now only was rocking the Gold card, or one of the cobranded cards.)
Although it says I'm pre-approved, still, for the Marriott Bevy card, this will make two cards with AMEX in the last 90 days. Plus, I've hit five AMEX cards (technically, one is a Corporate Card issues by my previous employer who I'm no longer with.) Have contemplated seeing about PC'ing that card to a Bevy card, but again, would need to make sense for me to pay $250.
All in all, I'm happy now.

Awesome, grats on the new card! BCP is solid for sure. Are they still doing the AF waiver for the first year?

Yes first year AF waived and 12 month 0% intro APR and balance transfers. Unfortunately I didn't qualify for the $300 SUB... but the interest free alone for 12 months makes up for it.

Within last 60 days, I've gotten Gold, BCE and base Hilton Honors. I'm gonna have to wait a bit, but next (and last
,for now) will be the Marriott Bevy. I'm going to shoot for January on that one. BCE worked better for me than BCP.

I don't think you can PC a corporate card to a Bevy, for two reasons. One because it's a corporate card, not a personal card, and two, because if I'm not mistaken, it can only be PCed among it's "family" of cards. (i.e. can only be PCed between Bevy and Brilliant).
But congrats on the BCP approval nonetheless. 👏

Very valid points. Wonder if I'd just call AMEX and tell them to remove the Corporate Card or close it. It's not reporting to my credit and, again, I'm no longer with the company. Would suck to be taking up one of the five card slots I can carry with AMEX, and don't use it anymore.
