One day spree: Chase, WF, US Bank, Comenity, & AMEX

Happy Sunday, all! I’m attempting a one-day spree of 5 cards today:

Chase United Club Infinite
Wells Fargo Attune
US Bank Cash+
Comenity Ford Rewards
AMEX Marriott Brilliant

I’ll post updates as the day progresses. Been working VERY hard to set this up for the last two months, and I thought this would serve as some good datapoints for others. Please feel free to ask any questions for your reference. First off, I went from 5/24 to 3/24 with Chase as of today (3/22/2026). Current scores are in my signature. Very excited! 😆

Re: One day spree: Chase, WF, US Bank, Comenity, & AMEX

9:15 AM: Started with United Club Infinite due to the Chase 5/24 rule

• To confirm, I had not received any personalized offers via mail or email. I also checked the “Just for you” section in the app and website to confirm there was nothing listed. Finally, I ran the “check if I’m pre-approved” marketing button on Chase’s homepage. All returned no cards.
• I have two Chase cards currently: Disney Inspire Visa and IHG Rewards Premier MC, $30,000 and $12,800 CLs, respectively. The IHG currently has a $0 balance; Disney is around $4700, but it’s all 0% APR promo.
• I was expecting a limit around $18,000.

Applied and got instant approval for $28,500! This FAR exceeded my expectations! 😊

Re: One day spree: Chase, WF, US Bank, Comenity, & AMEX

10:45 AM: Moving on to Wells Fargo Attune

• I was seeking this card specifically to get 4% cashback in categories that usually only get 2-3%.
• I only have one account with Wells Fargo at the moment, which is my Slumberland store card.
• I was expecting a limit around $10,000.

Applied and was denied, most likely due to my same-day inquiry with TU from Chase. Not completely unexpected as I know I'm shooting for the moon. This was not a high priority card for me, but rather more of a "nice to have" card. I'll reapply in 30-90 days. Keep moving forward!

Re: One day spree: Chase, WF, US Bank, Comenity, & AMEX

Would be nice to know your data stats in detail.  Like, number of HP's, 6 months, 12 months, and 24 months with each bureau.  Same for new accounts, before starting the spree.  Know that you 3/24 on new accounts.  What's you current total utilization?  Any particular CC over 30%?

Congrats on the Chase, Wells Fargo can be peculiar, so I wouldn't draw much from being declined.  You should have done a preapp with Wells before applying full.  I would have relied on that preapp, especially after having the pull from Chase, same bureau.  Wells pulls Equifax for me, AZ.

Spend: Less than 10k per year organic (frugal). MS varies, can be more significant.

(Aug of 26) Scorecard: Clean, Thick, Mature (Always PIF)

HP's: EQ 2/6, 2/12, 8/24 | TU 1/6, 4/12, 7/24 | EX 0/6, 2/12, 9/24

New Accounts: 2/6, 6/12, 10/24

Re: One day spree: Chase, WF, US Bank, Comenity, & AMEX

@ElvisCaprice Great questions!  Here are my stats:

Equifax: 3 total HPs (1 within 6 mo, 2 within 24 mo)

Experian: 8 total HPs (2 within 6 mo, 2 within 12 mo, 4 within 24 mo)

- NOTE: 1 of the within 6 mo inquiries was for a personal loan, and 1 of the within 12 mo was for an auto loan
TransUnion (not counting today): 1 total HP (1 within 24 mo)

Newest credit card accounts opened 5/11/2024, 12/4/2024, & 10/11/2025

Total CU = ~21%

Only one card >30%; it's at 69%

Let me know if any more details would help!  Yes, I was assuming the second TU HP might fail.  It's all good!

12:45 PM: Next up: U.S. Back Cash+

• Curently hold the Shopper Cash Rewards card.  There were many "offers" to apply for various additional cards in the my account dashboard.
• Based on my spending habits, the Cash+ card will ultimately replace the Shopper Cash Rewards card as my sole US Bank account.  Without the annual fee along with the perpetual 5% cashback in specific categories, I will come out far ahead on cashback return.
• I was expecting a limit around $7,500.

Applied and got instant approval for $3,500! I see this not as a reflection of creditworthiness, but rather a reflection of same‑day spree velocity.  This limit is honestly just fine as I only expect $500-$1000 monthly spend on this card, so it will stay <30% regularly.

The next two cards (supposedly) do not care about same-day inquiries at all, so we'll see!

Re: One day spree: Chase, WF, US Bank, Comenity, & AMEX

The first thing that jumps out at me is the utilization.  It's way too high.  Ideally I would want to be around 1% utilization or less going into a spree and definitely not over 8 to 9 % on a single revolver.  This is probably what tripped you up at Wells for the decline.  Also I would want to be 0/6 and no more than 2/12 on pulls going into a spree on all the bureaus.   Your Fico scores are in the range that they really don't matter, not a factor.  Of course if the preapprovals are telling you, you are good to go, then go for those giving you the green light, regardless of data stats.

Congratulations,  that's a whole lot of TU pulls.  Did you confirm that all 3 pulls were TU?  Maybe an EX or EQ, pulled CC has a further better chance at this point.  The data is always appreciated!!

Re: One day spree: Chase, WF, US Bank, Comenity, & AMEX

@ElvisCaprice 100%! Lower is always better, of course.  I personally wouldn't have been able to get to that level of utilization before today, and I wanted to provide some real-world data for users here.  I'm fairly confident that the next two are going to be successful based on the issuers alone.  I knew going into this that it was a long shot, but I wanted to take the chance for myself and others.  Thank you for your thoughtful questions and past advice on this forum.  Very much appreciated!

Re: One day spree: Chase, WF, US Bank, Comenity, & AMEX

1:45 PM: Comenity Ford Rewards Visa

• I did run through the prequalification process for this card; I was immediately pre-approved.
• I have one Comenity card currently (Big O Tires) with a $1,500 CL, which I will be getting rid of later this year.
• I was expecting a limit around $3,000.

Applied and got instant approval for $3,000 SL and $4,000 CL! Pretty much on par with expectations.  Interesting quirk with this card initially is you are not only limited to $3,000 SL, but you are also limited to only 6 total transactions.  Not planning on using this card right away, so this doesn't really impact me.  I appreciated the much higher CL than what FNBO is willing to provide, as I plan on using this card (among other things) to pay for my auto insurance every six months.

Last one up: AMEX!  Here we go!
