Opinions needed for thin file short history Datapoints included

First i want to say thank you to all myFico Members for so much great information!!!

Been reading here heavily for six months pretty much everyday

So heres a little background, back in September 1, 2017 I got my self three cards as follow Cap1 secured, 4 days later Discover secured, and 2 days later a opensky....

At time of apps fako scores 589 across all three Tu Eq Ex roughly speaking
When i Got my Disco they said 632 Fico 8

Cap1 started at $601 auto increase to $901
Discover started at $500.00, I've increased it to $2500.00
Opensky $500.00

December 1 2017 got SSL with Alliant $500.00 pay down to $18.00 now next payment Nov 2019

All my credit reports are clean after disputing in past six months

My New Tu fico score from disco is 745 and 706 fako and 2 inquiry in last 12 months

Fako EQ is 703 and 2 inquiries in last twelve months i actually have four but they over the one year mark

Ex is fico 799 1 inquiry in last 12 months and  1 thats over the one year mark

if you curious theres one closed pepboys card that closed in 2008 i know thats helping

Also experian says AaoA is 3.5 years thanks to that closed synchrony thats is still reporting 17 year old

Pretty much cleaned reports and now im facing a thin file or short history

I kind of regret doing the SSL cause that puts me at 4/24 but also maybe helping my Experian Score with credit mix i mean all scores

And i understand that chase wants to see at least a year, what are the chances to apply now with them (No pre offers from there site)

Since im at 4/24 Im about to say forget chase and apply to amex, citi, and possibility cap1 but dont want three hard pulls and garden until i can apply for a chase card

Amex pre-qualified shows 16.26 Bluecash and a couple ... i got offers in mail too twice

Citi also shows Double cash ... same also got offers in mail...

Just right now i went to cap one pre-qualified and it showed quicksilver but 24.24 to high and also savor and venture rewards again three hard pulls i rather do amex, citi and lowes

Utilization is at 1 % basicly since day one i only allow discover to post 4-7% and 0 on other two Accts
Tu AaoA 6 months
Eq AaoA 6 months
Ex AaoA 3.5 years oldest 17 years

Forgot to mention my 7th statement is due april 20th with discover hope to get back my money lol

I hope that with this post it can help out someone in future with the right keywords in search

I think i cover everything, all opinions are welcome good or bad, thanks in advance....

Re: Opinions needed for thin file short history Datapoints included

From my understanding Installment loans, and denials do NOT count towards Chase's 5/24 rule. Chase only counts inquiries that result in a new revolver. So with your datapoints you are only at 3/24, hope this helps.

As far as Chase wanting to see a year of history, I am not properly informed so I will leave that to our more accomplished members.

The problem with Chase is not only the 5/24 rule, but also it’s a HP for a CLI. They do have cards that are not subject to the 5/24 rule and might be an option as your credit ages. You definitely want a solid feeling going in and not waste a HP.

With the door opening to you for AmEx, I would go with it. AmEx has decent rewards cards. As the saying goes, be good to AmEx and they’ll be good to you. I’m gardening the heck out of my BCE. I am expecting AmEx will be the first lender to give me an CL greater than 5K. From what I have read hear, other creditors will follow their lead.

Your a a little more than 6 months into your growth. More will open up to in September.

Amex would be a great shot, and installment loans don’t count for Chase 5/24.
They do help with credit mix if you don’t have any active installment loans though; not a bad pickup since Alliant no longer does SSL

Thank you for confirming the the installment loans doesnt count, how about a charge card , say i get the BCE and same day apply for a charge card from amex, basicly i will like to thicken my profile so my AaoA in future if i close accounts say opensky dont get affected that much... thanks in advance

Re: Opinions needed for thin file short history Datapoints included

I will be going for the amex, (My fingers are itching lol ) but i will like to wait and see if my discover graduates this month in april 20th , reason i say is in case they do a manual review it would look better to have discover reporting unsecured than secured , it will look more creditworthy just saying, but i can be wrong, my biggest question now is if a charge card from amex will count towards 5/24 rule cause is not a revolver not sure and is not that i needed but will like to thicken my profile so 11th month mark im closing opensky thanks in advance....
