Re: Opting Back In

I was opted out and received noting.  November I opted back in and I still received nothing, expect for Discover whom I was approved for and still receive offers.  Other then that nothing.  I have never been able to get any offers or pre-quals on lenders websites.  However besides the Discover I was approved for 2 Amex's and a NFCU card.  So offers don't mean much I guess.  Just app.  What's the worse can happen?

Current Scores - EX-754, EQ-716, TU-751 Cards - Amex BCP(13800), Amex PRG, Amex Everyday(5000), Discover IT(3000), Navy Fed Go Rewards(11800), Cap One Sony Card(4000), Chase Freedom(5000), Chase Slate(5000)

Re: Opting Back In

It took me less than 1 week to get pre-approvals on CapitalOne and Chase. Nothing with Amex yet. Does anyone know how frequently they update their database?

Re: Opting Back In

I had an additional thought today that lack of pre-screened offers may be tied to a fraud alert?  Experian threw one on my file, which then spread to all three, when I requested an address correction.

Yep. That happened to me after I triggered a fraud alert, because of a false medical collection, I had removed. I had to contact EX, EQ, and TU and lift the fraud alert. I started getting SCT popups a few weeks after I opted in. I have never got a pre approval from Cap. One or any of the big cc companies since the fraud alerts. But, I cold apped and got a Venture in Dec.

Re: Opting Back In

Still nothing yet!  No letters, no prequals, no SCTs.    I went ahead and submitted yet another opt-in request for good measure.

Funny thing is I don't even want a new card right now!  I just want to use the prequals to gauge my rebuilding results.

Takes about 6 months to start getting offers again.

This is exactly what I noticed too - after the 6 month mark I have suddenly started getting offers in the mail almost daily.

once or twice a week for Discover IT, a few now for AmEx green, and one from CreditOne which I didn't even bother opening before running through the shredder Smiley Happy
