Overstock... Account Protection... Shoot me!

Received Account Protection letter and failed the security question: How many months is your auto loan? I said which one?! He asked me the same question again... so I provided the term of the original one and I should have said NONE OF THE ABOVE.

The application has been denied and I'm told I have to re-apply in 30 days.

I said 2 minutes later I was approved through the same department for a Z-Gallerie Card for $5k, why can't you use that verification, or the verification of my other 20+ comenity accounts!

"We are just the bank for the client, each client has different requirements to approve for their credit card"
I said "I know each has different requirements but only the bank verifies the identity of someone not your client because the bank is the one lending the money"

"There is nothing we can do!"

 

I love them if I never have to call them... when I have to call them it makes me a bit....

 

I called the new accounts line instead of account protection and she called over and said she explained to them but nothing either could do... I asked to speak to Executive office and she told me she did not have the number and could not transfer me...

I told her that is the problem with this bank... YOU WORK THERE and you don't have the number... Would you like it for your reference because I have it!?

If you really despise Comenity, WHY do you subject yourself to having them torture you with all your Apps??? Are you into S&M???

They back a lot of Stuff*... Hard to avoid them... but I have gotten much better about taking the approvals and running and letting the denials go without trying to get them overturned... however I don't think I have been approved basicaly pending the 3 questions and then denied for failing the questions and that's the only reason!

I made my 1 call to EO and if they are just as stupid as they normally are I will not pursue it further... I know better with the security questions and shouldn't have messed it up!

When in doubt always go with the wrong answer that they could think is right!

Because they are SO STUPID and do this 1980 snail mail verification that it's you that applied despite all the other cards I have... Had I answered the questions correctly they would have issued me an approval.

My suggestion since it seems you are App-Bat crazy 24/7 apping away like its no tomorrow. . . Type up all the common security questions/answers and ha e that sheet ready. That way, you won't be freaking out in your head wondering what is the answer woven they asked you.

How do I know ?

Because a buddy of mine...like you apped for every freaking Comenity card on the planet. One day he logged in one his cards and the credit lines were reduced to zero.

He checked all his cards and same thing. ZERO, ZERO, ZERO credit lines.

He had to go through he'll to reopen his cards. Let's just day they tortured him with paperwork galore.

I know questions inside and out... but if the options include multiple answers I can't fix that!

 

They asked how many months my car loan was?

They did not say which month the car loan opened was... and since I just refinanced it again less than 2 months ago I was not sure if they were pulling the newest loan or the previous one.

I answered 60 and should have said NONE... little crazy that a real human can't look at internal accounts and say oh right we have this person as a cardholder and he says he did apply, so he is verified ALREADY since he has been paying his other cards with our bank for over a year!

Wow! I guess I better be careful, In an attempt to organize all my credit cards properly and separate my bank/credit cards from my personal emails I've been switching all my accounts to reflect my exclusive email just for my banking stuff. I hope they don't think something weird is going on. I will just chill with them if that's the case. C.A sorry this happened to you, and thanks for sharing
