Re: Overstock CLI - Soft Pull or Hard Pull

I’ve gotten an online CLI every month like clockwork for a year. No more checkbox and never a HP. YMMV

If you don't mind, how much does each monthly CLI average? I have been doing every 3 months for the couple comenity cards I have. Didnt think to just shoot a CLI request each month.

Is there a definitiveanswer on whehter or not Overstock CLIs are now HP vs SP? From everything I read on these forums it "used" to be SP, then they added a checkbox authorizing HP (which could be ignored). Now, the box is gone.

I'm certainly not willing to risk an HP for a CLI but would like one to help get my utilization down.

I have gotten several CLI over the year, last one 11/2018, no HP.  Overstock store card

Re: Overstock CLI - Soft Pull or Hard Pull

I really want to pull thr trigger on overstock and VS for a cli to pad utilization, BUT afraid of an inquiry sitting on my report for 2 years for a card I barely use. Im curious if we did a poll of HP vs Sp for overstock and other commenity cards in since the checkbox change. And what was the score for those who got HP vs the score for those with Sp?

Re: Overstock CLI - Soft Pull or Hard Pull

I'm the OP and after reading the experiences of those that contributed, I went ahead, pulled the trigger and it was only a soft pull. So... while I can't guarantee your results will be the same, it appears everyone who commented had a similar experience.

I totally regret getting the card in the first place. I was too new to the forums to know better and didn't realize my scores were better than I thought (negating the need for low tier cards). So... in an effort to pad my utilization I did the same thing and applied for the OS card. But, now that the damage is done, I figure I ought to milk it for everything I can so... I'll be clicking the button monthly until/unless I see that the CLIs become hard pulls

Re: Overstock CLI - Soft Pull or Hard Pull

I can say for almost certainty 99.99% that the CLI button on the website is SP.  I have requested the CLI on the 1-month-old overstock card multiple times and never a hard inquiry.

I also have Wayfair, William Sonoma cards, and have requested multiple CLI, and all of them are SP as well.

Re: Overstock CLI - Soft Pull or Hard Pull

Did they ask for your full ssn or last 4?

I was going to try it since Im hearing its a SP but a little weary now that they are asking for the full SSN.

Re: Overstock CLI - Soft Pull or Hard Pull

It only asked for income on each CLI request.  At least in my case.  And the last CLI request I submitted was just a few days ago.

Re: Overstock CLI - Soft Pull or Hard Pull

I do a CLI just about every 30 days. Last one was a few days ago. Always a SP.

Never ask for ss number only income same as poster above.

Every 1-2 months (sometimes I forget to request until 2 mos) always soft pull since 2014 or so. Initilally was $200 each increase, then $400 each cli for a long while, since mid-late 2017 it's been $800 each cli.

I will note I did use my overstock early 2018 for a very large 1yr 0% purchase which I have since paid off, but other than that I have used the card very little as Overstock is pretty pricey unless you are very careful to use the rewards, coupons etc.

Hope that helps.
