Overstock SCT???

i read somewhere that now if you do the overstock SCT, that it is now a hard pull. Can anyone confirm that this is true or not? I was going to try their shopping cart trick because i want to get a humidifier

Well when I did the Sct in May on vickies website I was assuming it was a Sp, they only asked for my last 4, dob, and maybe income but now that I look at my EQ report it's showing a hp on that same day n I didn't apply for anything at that time. so maybe they changing up....

I just did the Overstock SCT about a little over a month ago and it was just a SP.

There was a bunch of confusion, what I gathered from reading was;

The SCT VISA Comenity cards are now hard pulls, there are no more Comenity VISA cards that will give a SP from a SCT.

Store cards are still SP via the SCT.

Dont know if thats true, I added Overstock after "the change" and it was a SP.  (via the SCT)

Some have posted they got a hard pull but most report they are softs.  Some people apply for the store card instead of doing the SCT and say they got a HP.  Some may just get a HP and others dont.  Some are apping for VISA cards and saying its a SP, others disagree.  Lots of conflicting information  But generally thats what I gathered from it.

I agree with the conflicting info - I guess it's a YMMV thing. From my experience, if I cold app'd for a Comenity card (i.e. not using the SCT) I got a HP every time. The time I used the SCT (for Overstock) it was only a SP.

I do believe that all Comenity Visa/Mastercards are all HPs, whether you use the SCT or not - although as stated above, some people claim to have gotten them with a SP.

Got my Overstock card about 5 months ago through SCT and it was definitely a SP.

I've had the Overstock card for over a month now and it was a soft pull.  It did throw me off because they did ask for the entire SSN.  But it was a SP for me. On the other side of the coin, I got a pop up for Modell's Visa card and while they asked for the 4 digit SSN, it was a hard pull.  It was a Visa account so I was ok with it.

Yesterday, I clicked a link from an expired pre-approval email and entered my full SSN. I received the 7-10 day message. Today, I received an alert from EQ, it did result in a HP.

That was a cold app. SCT is a popup. The hard pull on Overstock is justifiable. its a good company with pretty good deals if you watch for the coupons only, use 0% financing, and use a shopping portal like ebates or fattywallet. The overstock account will grow I can't wait till 6 month statement.
