PENFED CC Denied - Called/Email Recon Then.... What do you guys think?

Hello everyone, I wanted to post this question because Tuesday seems so soo far away to get an answer lol! So I went crazy and applied on PENFED for almost all of their cards (4 including PLOC, Promise, Amex and Car Loan) I was denied on all of them immediately Well, I sent out an email on the Promise and asked if I could get a small start just so I can start rebuilding my credit, My current EQ is 647 TU 640 with 12 INQ, 6 DERAGATORY, 24 years, 3 Liens (long story), this is so much better where it was at 528 just 6 months ago! Anyhow, I first called Penfed to asked for Recon and was denied. I sent them an email and low and behold, I was asked back which one I wanted to be reconsidered, I emailed and said whichever they think I can get either the AMEX or the Promise. 2 hours later, I got a new message the application I previously had that was in "Completed" went back to "In Review" and I received an email asking me for Notarized Driver's license, Social Security card and Utility bill. I also got the call and I was told if I could send those ID verification. I immediately sent the documents needed. However, I haven't heard back from them, I called after 8 hours and I was told that they forwarded my documents to the person assigned to my case. Anyway, I just wanted to see if anyone can relate? What's the possibility? Thank you all! I'm crossing my fingers

I would say Penfed had reconsidered your application and that's why they requested your verification documents. Got my fingers crossed for you. Good luck, Penfed is an awesome credit union.

How did you get your stuff notarized? I tried to do this last week, and was told by the notary(bank), that they couldn't do it. My PenFed account is in limbo at the moment.

I went to The UPS store to do it . Just need to have them copy your ID , SS and utility bill sign it and the notary person will notarized it for you. Your bank should too... They just need to prove you are the person on all the documents you are presenting. Good luck! Let me know how yours pan out!

Well unfortunately, I called them to follow up if they received all my paperworks and they said they did and sad to say the said that they can't approve it because of the garnishment on my account that was 5 years ago. So sad :*( but I guess I'll try to garden what I have...

I think it's odd for them to have you send in all of the notarized documentation only to deny you. Sorry it didn't work out OP.

Was the garnishment released when you applied? I have paid tax liens on my credit report, and was denied this week. Hoping to recon.
