@rchvmz wrote:Well, after 3 days under review the app was denied..no email, no message, no anything explaining why. I am sure its the same reason as the 12/17/21 denial, except my score is 29 points higher, no collections, no lates, oldest CC now is 15 months, but BK 13 was DC on 12/14/21---I will try again in 3 months. Time is on my side. I did call in and rep says to send a signed document to underwriting w/reasons why I think the app should be reconsidered. Can't hurt, but no expectation there.
Aw bummer @rchvmz. I thought this time would yield some fruit, but no worries. There's always next time (or see whether reconsideration is an option).
Wait for the reasons and update this thread. I'm curious to see what the reason(s) are and how they compare to your last attempt.
The reasons are exactly the same as the ones from the 12/17/21 app I posted--identical.
The reps suggested I email underwriting and give resons/explantions as to why I think a reconsideration is warrented. So, I did. I drafted, on my work letterhead, all the reasons that argue their reasons. ie; no collections, no lates, no delequencies in the last 18 months since getting re-established, oldes line is now 18 months--no balances with Utilization at 1% and only public record is the DC BK, so I uploaded a copy of the order showing the actual date it was DC--my credit file does not show that--just a DC. We will se what happens, but I am not getting my hopes up-I think 3 months post BK is too early for them, so if the recon letter bears no fruit, I will try again in 3 months. Eventually, it will happen. Until then, its garden time

I see. It sounded like you hadn't received the letter or reasons yet from your post.
Thanks for the additional DPs and definitely keep us posted on your reconsideration outcome.

Yeah, I called in and they read me the reasons. I don't think I have heard of anyone having any luck with recons with CC and Penfed--if there is, I have not seen them. The rep did say tho, to upload a letter for processing to read may have them look at my file closer. In the box that shows my Fico9 score, underneath it has a couple of the same reasons as the letter, so it could be, they aren't actually putting eyes on my equifax file and going by the system generated stuff. We will see. I am in no real need for a CC, I am good as of now. I did cancel 1 with annual and monthly fee that was coming due next month. The others w/Annual and Monthly fees are months out so I will wait just before they come due to cancel. I do have one that is a $5.00 MF, the surge card but its also 13 momths old, so I will hang on to it until I can get in with Penfed---I think I need that age for my file. Thanks for all your help. This site is awesome

I got a email from Penfed saying I did not address the decline reasons and need to resubmit something addressing them. I could not have been any clearer about them---I used bullet points and numbered the 4 decline reasons then addressed each one going by the numbers? I called in to try and get some clarity as to the email. The Rep said they just really do not do recons unless I get Equifax to change whatever is causing the decline reasons...she said she did not think anyone actually puts eys on the credit report, and goes by the automated system alerts.
I called Equifax and explained the reasons for the decline---the rep looked at the report and seen 3 CC by Amex that have NOT updated their EQ report showing they were discharged in the BK--they show closed, not Discharged, and 2 show 30 day late--1 shows 90 day late???? weird. Eq rep says that would explain why they see an alert of serious deliquency, so she put in disputes to them to update those. She could not explain why it says collections when their are NO collections, and why it would say, Too many accts with Balances, as I have no balances except for one $15.00 balance. My UT is 1%-----so she could not explain how or why Penfed is coming up with these alerts---and the only Public record is the BK showing DC.....so its really a mystery. I have my Credit file being mailed to me. Anyone have any suggestions at all. I really thought a recon letter would get a reps to put eyes on the report to see those issues are not on there---all the other CC that were in the BK all show DC--no balances--no payment histories----closed and 0 everything----I am stuck and confused. Am I going to have to wait for the BK to drop off?..thats almost 3 years away?.......smh
