When logging into my paypal account, i immediately get this popup to apply for paypal credit.  Is this a preapproval or just invite to apply? hp or sp if i decide to apply?  Im assuming this is not related to comenity sct.

For some people it is a HP, others (like me 2 years ago) have had it be an SP.  As long as your scores are average or better, you shouldnt have any problem getting approved for PP Credit.

They e-mailed me forever telling me I was pre-approved, and when I applied I was approved. Hope this helps! i love my paypal credit! I currently have 4 promotions going on lol.

Didnt say i was pre-approved, just when I log in, i get a splash page to apply thats it.

I have the paypal extras mc on my secondary paypal account and whenever I log into it I get the same splash screen telling em to apply for smartconnect so I'm not sure if its a real preapproval. I had been getting emails inviting me to apply before I got it and those have stopped. I have the paypal credit/bill me later on my main account and I don't get any popups there. The paypal extras was a HP on TU for me so I'm sure its more of a blanket invitation rather than it being targeted.

I have a PayPal Extras card, and I get the message to apply for the PayPal Credit account (formerly BillMeLater and through Comentity) every time I log into my account. I was even getting that same message when my scores were in the low 500's, so I think it is just a blanket offer for you to click through.

I just went through this one recently. I think it is a generic offer since they didnt find it on your account. If you apply it will be a HP on EQ and a hidden TL (AAoA not effected). When I applied earlier this week it only dropped my score by 1 point based on CK along with an additianal inquiry for a CU.
