See if you can turn it around with the survey. It may start with a low SL, but it will get you in the door.

Re: PenFed Bummer

Im not sure if 1.8 years is too soon for Penfed. Perhaps you can ask Baller4life in her Penfed thread. I think most important is that you are a member now. The credit products will always be there do maybe you can continue to rebuild your profile and have them on the backburner for now. I do remember they may have type of loan that helps you build history with them and may help your cr as well.

I know its frustrating. Honestly im frustrated i cant get more cli on my Promise card, especially when you read all these approvals for thousands of dollars. BUT, at the end of the day, i must remember, i am in, i just have to continue building my relationship with them . Kind of like high school when we were freshman. Eventually we will become seniors but only time can help get us there. Continue the course, it will happenSmiley Happy

Re: PenFed Bummer

Just got the letter with my score in it, says its a 618 Smiley Surprised  I guess that would be my Nexgen score, which is 53 pts lower than my fico8, so Im pretty sure that contributed a lot to it as well.  Like you said, products will always be there.

Re: PenFed Bummer

I was denied with PENFED also.

Applied for membership, made donation, opened savings account.

Applied for Platinum Card, DENIED instantly. Credit score during that time was Equifax 654

My "NEXGEN" Score came back at a 614 (I was super irritated)

I applied for a checking account hit with another hard pull. YES PENFED double hard pulled me and on top of that gave me a 500 Thirfty Line of credit that I DID NOT ASK for and did not WANT! Once that line of credit hit my reports my score dropped 15 points.

Filled out Survey sent via email. Made them aware I was extremley dissapointed.

Got a call with PenFed the very next day, I was told that I had three account that are charged off and they need to be paid in full or deleted in order to qualify for any PenFed products :/

Once the three accounts are no longer on my reports I will apply again, hopefully when approved this will makeup for the entire horrid beginning.

Re: PenFed Bummer

I totally know the feeling, I will not be applying for anything for all of 2017, Comenity, Synchrony, and Cap1 are the only banks that likes me a little lol
