PenFed CLI request HP with a hard pull from 7/17

I requested a CLI on my power Cash Rewards card over the weekend and opened a checking account. I asked the representitive both times if it would use the same hard pull from opening of my account in july, and he said the system wouod already use the older HP. Is it possible to get the inquiry removed?

I got denied the CLI, Btw, my account is too new, he said I should let it age another couple months.

FYI/ IME, its easier to obtain another card with Penfed than to recieve a CLI on one already with them this early.

Re: PenFed CLI request HP with a hard pull from 7/17

Yeah, I probably ought to have waited. I opened a Power Cash Rewards at the beginning of July and decided to try a CLI with them this past weekend while I was applying for CLI's on several other cards. The request went to a loan officer and was turned down on the grounds that I had too many other new cards with balances. My July FICO 9 was 667, they pulled the score again for this (not sure if it was a HP, I haven't gotten any alerts yet) and I think it went up to 680 or 683.

Use the HP and apply for a different card. If you see one that is useful. You can always combine the limits later.

Already did. Applyed for the Promise, no fees at all, and I can get cash from an ATM without a 26% charge. That's the reason I wanted it. That or the Platnium from NFCU.

We'll see if it's another HP, but guess it won't matter....😢😤😤

Screenshot_20170911-205216.jpgTHESE Guys hate me. 😭😟 I guess I'll try again in 7 or 8 months, maybe more. I'll have SSL Reporting by then, and will be using less than 7% of my CL. Want to maximize my score for AmEx CLI in February. Keep an eye out for a soft pull... hope my scores get north of 770 🤷🏼‍♂️😎😉

Re: PenFed CLI request HP with a hard pull from 7/17

Sorry for the denial Gregory. I've seen members denied CLI only to go back a get another card.
You'll get there. Just give it some time. It was worth a shot. Since you've already taken the pull. Nothing gained but nothing lost either. Wait for the survey and push back on it one more time.
