You may all want to have a LOOKIE now on the 

PENFED start page that the Equifax NG2 scoring

systems is now gone and has been officially

Update: Was denied for the Platinum Rewards. Going to use the one I was approved for as my main card and re apply in a couple of months. Thanks for all of the input in regards to my question!

I'm not sure about your situation with the cash rewards card, but Penfed would allow you to take 5k from that card and open the platinum card.  a way to get a second card even if you couldn't be approved.  I have been looking into finally getting a card with them and hoping to do that method myself as I doubt I could be approved for both but would be able to balance share to get the second card.  Rep told me they do that, so its a trusted source too.  As always YMMV, but its nice to know they do that

Thanks for that info, I may do that at some point, I joined PenFed in hopes of getting my foot in the door and needing a card for a BT so when I apped I put in info for that and if I move part of the limit to another card at this time it will be 3/5 maxed, but when I pay that down some it will definitely be an option to check into.
