PenFed -Should I apply for a card?

I am a member of PenFed and only have their savings.  Last week I added a 2nd Amex (cash magnet) which was a sp and NFCU Cash Rewards at $10K with 11.9% apr (TU9) hp.

Should I apply for a card with PenFed? I have read a lot of post about being declined, etc. even with high scores and some people were just unhappy in general with them.   My EQ FICO9 is 729.

Re: PenFed -Should I apply for a card?

Well Amex pulls EX and NFCU normally pulls TU for new CC apps.
Assuming neither has reported. As long as you have no late payments in the last 24 months, you should be fine.
No guarantees, as YMMV.

I've never had any issues with Penfed.
They've been good to me. No complaints here.

If your membership was recent. There's a good chance they'll use the same pull for membership. Always be prepared for a HP regardless.

They won't use the same pull.   They said they can only use it for loans but all cc's require a new pull. Before I could say anything, he said " I know it doesn't make sense" but that's how they do it.

I think i'll hold off for now.

That's why , when I encourage family and friends to join. I have them to app for the CC when they join. It has always been one HP.

The inqs don't hold much weight. It's the new accounts that get you with certain lenders.

I was expecting a small score drop from the pulls for penfed and nfcu but no change.  They are on my report and the scores stayed the same.

Yeah, our credit score analyzing gurus can explain how that inquiry bucketing works. lol

Me I just app, use, pay and repeat.😂
It's worked out fine for me so far.
I used to worry about inqs. Those days are long gone.
