So I was auto shopping and decided to try with Penfed. It ended up with a denial.. Today I put a credit freeze on each CBR and totally forgot..
So I applied for the Promise CC.. the application went into review and they sent me a secure message stating that I need to unfreeze my credit report... at this point I'll let the app sit BUT I received an odd email from Penfed thanking me for signing up for the credit card paperless statement... Which is impossible because I was not approved and during the application process there was no option to choose paperless statements for the CC..
Has this happened to anyone else? Just curious though I am sure the app is still a denial until I unfreeze EQ 😐🤣
So you apped twice, both times with frozen files???
Why?

Maybe OP can clarify about (2) Apps?

No I applied for the Auto loan and EQ was pulled. I then put a freeze on all 3 reports and totally forgot about the freeze. When I put the app in I was hoping for an SP approval due to the previous EQ pull. But the app went into review and they stated that I had to unfreeze my reports 🤷🏽♀️
@CivalV Sorry to hear about your PenFed auto loan denial.
The Promise Visa app sounds like it's still in pending status.
If you got an email thanking you for signing up for paperless CC
statements that you never chose during the Promise app process,
then that sounds more like a pending approval than a denial.
All you'll have to do to find out is to unfreeze your EQ file. If you
suspect PenFed will double HP you, it's best to call in and speak
to a CSR/ask for a supervisor to verify the Promise app will be off
the same hard pull as your auto loan app. If your Promise app was
a straight denial just like your auto loan, then PenFed would have said so...
