I tried looking through other threads, but couldn't find what I was looking for.
What's the CLI rules for PenFed? I know they could possibly do a quarterly SP offer, but if I request, it will be a HP.
For example, AmEx rules are you can apply for a CLI anytime after 61 days. If you're denied, you can apply again in 90 days. If approved, you can apply again in 180 days.
TIA!
@Hut1, I think the 6 month time frame would be good.
I don't know if there is a hard and fast rule to Penfed.
I was able to get a pretty decent one at around 5 months or so.
ETA: DP's prove that if you wait long enough, you can get a "SP" CLI.
Maybe @AverageJoesCredit knows?

I'll probably wait until at least 12/2021 to see if I get one, but I have a spreadsheet where I keep the details of all my cc's. I'm hoping PenFed won't bucket me like AmEx has.

Usually Penfed warms up to a person after a little time has gone by,
with on time payments and not too much credit seeking.
I did originally get "Too much available credit" .. but then they decided to have a

Lol, im late to the PF happy train. For sure sp offers are when you get offers, or if you get offers. I believe most customer initiated requests will be hp. I think the stronger your profile/income better your chances. Ill know how PF really feels once i try for their Gold card maybe in Jan/Feb
@AverageJoesCredit Is spot on. PF likes to see a bit of history before granting a CLI. There are some one off occasions but they're rare. And as AJC mentioned, customer request for increase are almost always a HP with them.
ETC: HP rather than SP. SPs are usually for pre-approved offers.
I've had my two accounts 3 and 4 months respectively. The 'Request Credit Line Increase' button is showing up though I know that since it's a HP, I'm holding off at the moment. I'm not sure if the presence of the option online has anything to do with timing/likelihood of approval or not.

Concur. I was under the impression that customer-initiated CLI requests were HP, @Loquat?. Unless something changed. Some of the ones I received were SP, but that was whenever the quarterly pre-approved [CLI] offers were available.

You'll definitely be a great GP @AverageJoesCredit 😁 for some good DPs. Especially, during these economic times. Unfortunately, I'm capped out since I reached the max a while ago 😬 so no more CLIs for me.
@FinStar Sorry, you're right. Customer request are almost always HP, I was thinking one thing and typed another. My mind was set on pre-approvals. Thanks for correcting Fin!
