I applied for membership, and the Platinum Rewards on 10/24 and was approved for both. Applied for $20K PLOC on Monday of this week and shot down immediately, Pyramiding. Opened a checking account yesterday, odd they only allow a $50.00 max deposit.

Questions:

Will the Pyramiding affect CLI request within the HP window? If not, when should I apply?

Will the Pyramiding affect another card app? If not, when should I apply?

Does Penfed offer preapprovals, and if so, where are they visible on the account page?

the cli request could go either way. if you use and pay for 1-2 statements then it could work. didnt work for me though. 

i was approved for two cards back to back, but then was told no more. try for a second if you want and see what happens. 

penfed does offer quarterly pre approvals. they will be on your top page of the landing screen. you will not be able to miss it when its there.

Thanks dedemari. I want to careful with them but, I don't want the window to pass on the initial HP.

Which cards did you get?

I was instantly approved for promise visa and then instantly approved for travel amex. i also have access america checking and thrify credit service along with a regular share.

Were the limits similar on both cards? You don't have to share particulars. Also have the Access, and Thrifty.

Only a $50 deposit? You sure about that? I deposited $5000 when I joined last year with no problem.

Yes, it said Min $25.00, Max $50.00 on the Access America. I thought it was a mistake and I entered $500.00 which was my intended deposit and it came back Max $50.00.

no problem! i love screen shoots! I was approved first for promise visa $1,500.00 and I was so happy because i had penfed membership for a long time and none of their cards. so i said, what the hey apply for a second card. almost feel down when it said congrats you are approved, $17,500.00!
