Penfed recon?

I applied yesterday for the Gold card with Penfed hoping to do a BT from my last lingering balance on a Navy card. It was declined. I sent a recon email shortly after. Called this morning and asked to speak with a loan officer. The rep told me they don't speak with customers and she couldn't help me with the recon. That seemed contrary to what I've seen here in the forums, but oh well. Anyways, I was hoping to hear something today. Nothing yet. 

Anyone know how long it takes to hear back from a recon email especially given the app was done on a weekend? And do you think I'll get a call or email response?

I was DECLINED by PenFed very recently. Sent them a SM for recon, they replied they would send it to recon and within 24-hours or so I got a reply with the SAME dated denial letter. Makes me wonder if they even bothered to recon.

That's super frustrating. I still haven't heard anything so I'm not sure what to think yet.

I decided to try and call, but their main customer service number is giving a busy tone. Never had that happen before! I double checked the number and tried a couple times. Very odd.

After waiting on hold for 20 minutes I finally got through to someone. She couldn't find my application!! So she put me on hold and after about 5 minutes they hung up on me. I was ready to just let it go, but she ended up calling me back. She said that recon requests are not reviewed over the weekend, but I needed to send in an email with the application number. I explained that's what I sent in on Saturday, but then realized I didn't include the application number or any info except my name *facepalm*. She assured me that even though she couldn't find my application the LOs would be able to.

So I updated my letter to include my app number, contact info, and printed it and signed it for good measure before sending it back in. She said it takes about 24-48 hours to receive a response on week days. Now I wait again. Please let this not all be for nothing.

Best of luck to you OP. PenFed, in my opinion, offers decent products and their customer service has been stellar in my experience. I hope you get what you app'd for.

Hey @Anonymous what happened? Did you get it? Also, would you be able to give me the email you used? I just got approved for a relatively small SL and would like to see if I can go a little higher myself. Thanks!
