Re: Pentagon Federal Credit Union Data Share

Okay, last week I came across this thread and read all 110 pages (at the time) of this thread.

I told myself I will wait 1-2 months to app for it... but I really wanted to establish myself with a credit union sooner rather than later.

If I choose to purchase a car .... or need a loan. Putting some money in this checking account for savings and maybe later an IRA.

Its all good... but that is kind of why I apped sooner rather than later.

So after reading all your trials and tribulations... I joined the PenFed family with all you goombas and goombettas.

Im more than thrilled with my credit line...  This is more than enough for this card.  I may want to work on the APR... like it to be slightly lower.

So there is only 1 other card that I really want and I will app for that 3 months from now... when my score hits 700!   That is the Amex BCE. Im a happy camper... who knows maybe I will go for a PLOC in a couple of days or weeks.  I like to think a bit.

Product approved and Limit: PenFed Platinum Rewards Visa Signature Application/$7K
EQ Fico Score: Fico 8-----669
Penfed Nextgen Score: not a clue ( I looked everywhere to find) (I'll come back and let you all know when I do)

Instant or Review?: Review if you want to call it that .. it was literally like 5 minutes and immediately got an email to check my approval.
AAOA: 3 Years, 6 Months
Derogs?: 1 (mortgage 120+ DAYS PAST DUE - I was a quick-quit-deed - ex husband went late before my name went off mortgage.. so he

could qualify for fed-modified loan which they foreclosed on him in the end (I thought initially I went down with him but was out of the house 3 years already. I took the hit to my credit until he got me off the mortgage. cleaned up everything but this I could not apx 4 years old)
Total EQ Inquiries: 4
Last 12 months: 4
Last 6 months: 4

No need to go to branch. Just follow instructions in original post. But, sure you can join now. Then app for your products in December.

CreditLuv,

I just joined NavyFed this month. I posted it on the rebuilding board under bankruptcy. There is another thread in personal finance.

Very Nice! Smiley Happy

Now aren't you glad that you went ahead and joined now rather then later? Congratulations!!

I don't have a clue on that NexGen score either and can't find it anyplace but then the card isn't here yet either.

Re: Pentagon Federal Credit Union Data Share

I know you don't have to go to a branch, but as many posters state it usually goes smoother that way and as I planned I'll get in now and app for a CC/PLOC in December.

Re: Pentagon Federal Credit Union Data Share

CreditLuv - I actually am very happy I just took the chance. Sometimes you have to be brave and bold!  This thread gave me the courage to take the leap.  I figured worse case they have to do a new pull sometime down the road.

I did not belong to any credit unions and this was super easy to join.  Nice to have some financial options for automobiles and/or homes down the road.  It is a banking relationship as well as just getting credit cards.

Im excited.  How long does it take to get the card in the mail.  Cant wait to see it.

Im in the garden until I look good for BCE (or if I work of the same PenFed HP that does not count) ... then in the garden for a while.

Thanks you all!
