I app'd for my PenFed Promise in April- $10,000 SL, not too bad.
I've barely used it- very small charges every now & then.
Logged in tonight with offers! Almost passed out..
$8000, CLI or choice of any of their other cards.. I decided to go for the Power Cash Rewards..
So far no pull, I'm guessing I won't receive one as it was an offer..
I'm quite happy with PenFed.. The only negative is to get the 2% CB I have to open a checking and that will be a HP.
My husband is a VET, I'm not soooooo... I think I might wait until after the first of Jan to open the checking-
Anyway, I wanted to share that Data Point.. Don't forget to roll your clocks back this weekend!

Maybe you can shed some light. I made the donation and opened the share acct. So, I 'm waiting for them to approve and start my membership (fingers crossed). After I paid the donation and did the online membership app, I was prompted to call for ID verification. Pretty normal, right? Well, they wanted a copy of my social security card. Ok, easy, I have a copy saved in my computer, so I email it to them............. I don't hear anything, so next day, I call and CSR says, we need a different copt of your SS card? It looks like its been cropped a little too much. OPen up the edges.... At that point, I said to myself, wow, they are going to be stringent in this process. Aaaaaand, they were, and still are. LoL. I said ok, and they said, also, send a copy of your drivers lic, along with the widened shot on the SS card. Ok, so I can't find my hard copy 
, but I have a copy that I made a few years back, and I have it saved on the computer. I have used this copy for state documents, ID verification and never had an issue. Sooooooooo, I just re-send the same pic w my DL. I figure, I'll look for my hard copy, but maybe a different LO will approve this one. Ok..Fast forward to this moring... I call...CSR says "NO" to the SS card again (LOL), and now says, on top of the SS card, they want a utilty bill. That my DL was approved, but not SS card and now nbeed a utility bill. Sooooo, here's the issue. I don't have an electric bill from my current address. The bill is in another family members name, I live with. So I tell the CSR that, and she says, how about a mortage invoice? I said, I don't own the house I live in now. What else can I use for something as good as a utilty bill? I thought Cell phone, but she said probably not...I'm thinking my car loan I paid off a few months go, or my current lease. Thoughts? I can also give banking or credit card statement with address. Car insurance with address. I did find a better copy of my SSA card on my computer, so fingers crossed. Either way, Monday, I am going down to the local SSA office and ordering a new SS card!!! I went online to SSA.com, but can you believe that NJ is one of the only states you cannot print out a copy of your SScard on their website? Hahaha. Something tells me this wasn't meant to be. LoL. Oh, BTW, the SSA rep when I called them, said that an SS card is not considered a valid form of ID. That came straight from SSa. So, why does PenFed want it? I was obviously born and live here and I sent a ton of documents. I also sent a copy of my birth certificate, and that wasn't enough. LoL... I need something that will pass at the level of utility bill, and better copy of my SS Card. It takes two weeks to get the SS Card in the mail, and I reallyyyy want them to use the EQ hit I took. Oh, and sure, they charged all the donation fees and share acct fees. No issues there

I'm just throwing this out there, but you mention you have a car... how about offering to send them a copy of the tag receipt/registration?
That won't have your SS#, of course, but it will be firm proof of your address.
