Re: Pentagon Federal Credit Union Data Share

Does the Penfed Platinum Rewards have tougher standards for approval? I got the Power Cash last month, got auto loan yesterday without another HP, so I figured maybe go ahead and try for another card before my 90 days are up. I figure the 5x on gas would be nice, but if they require more for that card than I probably would go for the Pathfinder.

I think it might. It won't cost you another hard pull, so I say go for it! Call them and tell them you want to apply for that card and see what happens. I didn't mean to apply for the Gold card, but I was approved for $8,000. Called in and told the guy I didn't mean to apply for that card, so he said ok well what card did you want? I told him the PowerCash Rewards and he said ok! You're approved for $8,000. He said to activate both cards, then call in and combine the Gold with the PowerCash so I could have a limit of $16,000. It didn't cost me another hard pull and it was surprisingly super, and I mean SUPER, easy.

Let us know what happens!

I think I've found the sacred map that may lead me to this garden everyone keeps talking about.

Well I applied for the Platinum. Went to 24-48 hours. Not sure if that is good or bad. Guess I'll just sit here and cross my fingers.

I know it's not good. Just hoping it's not bad.

Aw well that's better than a straight up no. I prefer to call PenFed because they're people are always so kind when I do. I don't think I would've been approved had I done it online.

Re: Pentagon Federal Credit Union Data Share

I've been a PenFed member about 4 months. I have my primary checking w/ Direct Deposit (run about 4-8k through it a month in deposits) 1 most post discharge. Their Fico 9 score has me at 660. They approved the overdraft line of credit at $500 (which was all i requested due to the new BK). I have a CapOne card @ $500 a Ollo Rewards @ $500 and a CreditOne at $300. Back to the garden for 6 months now. Do the overdraft lines have the potential to grow?

It went pending, they did verification when I called and approved me pretty quickly.

I'm also assuming their Credit Card requirements would have been more stringent so I didn't want to poke the bear. Thoughts?

Re: Pentagon Federal Credit Union Data Share

Hey there! Don't worry to much!  I open savings acct and became a member Friday.  Last night I app'ed for the PFCR card and also got the 24-48hr message you did. Seems pretty common.  I'm going to call CSR this morning.  From what I've read, It's good to call and be proactice with Penfed. Their CS is supposed to be pretty easy to talk to Smiley Happy   We'll see. Def update when you get a response.  Have you checked the status of the app online?
