Are you already a member with Penfed? If you are, then yes, a new credit card app is a hard pull. I was hit with one Equifax inquiry, when I applied for my membership. The good thing about it, though, not that there's ever anything good about an HP, is that with Penfed, an HP for whatever product or original membership you app'ed for, is good for 90 days. I received an Equifax HP when I signed up, but no HP when I applied for my PCR card, because, I applied shortly after I became a member. I actuall still have another 45 days if I want to use that same HP for another product. This has been my experience, and I have read mostly similar from other members. expect an HP if you need to join, but then the cc app will be no hit. Good Luck!
