The 1 on TU won't scare Barclay. That being said, if you want to apply for one of their cards, I would still do it first.
Yes, apply for all the same day.
Barclays will focus on TU inquiries for the last 6 months. I would say 2-3 in 6 months would be ok.
With the order that I've written out, Barclays will be the "first" during your spree as Citi will more than likely pull EX, possibly EQ...or both.
I would go in that exact order.
I left out one other, NFCU. I havent even joined yet, but I am was waiting on my new scores to settle down first. Anywhoo I just ran across a Long post about NFCU, couldn't read all of it because I'm pressed for time. What order will that fall in, and if anyone know if I can for a app for a CC the same day as opening an account up, and are they inquiry sensitive?

Email Creditaddict. NFCU is his department. lol
Not to derail the happy train but why don't you do half now and half 6 mos. later? Barclay and Citi in the first group?
Someone on page 1 showed what benefits each card was good for and it showed "Gas" and "Travelling" twice, maybe you don't need both? ![]()
The more frequently you apply, the lower the SCL's will be.
"1. Citi Double Cash(EX primarily..maybe EQ, inq sensitive)-2% on everything if paid in full. 1% otherwise.
2. Barclays Rewards(TU, inq sensitive)-gas
3. Chase CSP(TU &EX, inq sensitive)-traveling
4. BoA Rewards(EX, inq sensitive)-gas
5. Discover(EQ)-category spending which does include a gas quarter.
6. Cap1 Venture(EX,TU,EQ)-traveling"
Well Citi is "Optional" I don't feel confident with apping with them just yet. Maybe six months down the road, if any. I have a bad taste in my mouth just from reading soo many negative post about them on here. I've read more bad stories than good. So Im going to wait to fall in'love with them.

Instead of a ton of new accounts why not
scale back from going crazy, protect your inquires/AAoA)
After reading the follow up comments I would (if it were me)
Are you getting prequal offers or tried online?

YOu dont have to wait for your scores to settle down for NFCU!
They pull TU for membership, and EQ for everything else!! They arent too inquiry sensitive either. I joined and was approved for membership and a CC with a 610 score. you need to go read the "OFFICIAL NFCU " thread, in the CC section. Good reading there.
YOu can app for CC same as well.
But keep in mind, they are HP happy in the future... ![]()
Just a warning with Chase, they like to see some good history and good limits before giving good limits. Is hard to get good CLIs, people apply for other Chase card and transfer limits. Is next to impossible to lower the APR, if I waited for Freedom I will not have a 22.99% APR (2 months after I got the card they sent a mail offer with 18.99%). I don't mind much because I always PIF but it really looks bad, more now that I got my BoA card down to 16.99% and Discover to 19.24%
I have 2Amex's and Chase Freedom, and Quicksilver also. Capital 1 is my oldest card 8years, I am indeed going to app for a couple more, I know for sure BOA, Chase, and Barclay, and gotta catch that Venture train! I do want to join NFCU, because of its perks, but I also am a big fan of reading what Penfed have to offer. I don't know if I am able to join because I'm not in the millitary. But thats on my wihlist too.

- Only apply for 3 cards that you would use/have use for.
- Spread out your APPS between credit agences (examples):
- Chase or Amex - EX 1 HP (Amex is good for the 3x CLI, Chase will be high APR/low CL post promo)
- Barclays TU 1 HP
- and something for EQ 1 HP (PenFed?)
- I would stay away (IMO) opition of Cap1. The 3x inquiries just arent worth it imo (plus many other reasons)
- Do the same in 6+ months if you really need....
- Join PenFed CU instead of NFCU they use HP for 90 days for add'l request like LOC.
