Re: Please Help!

I could get added as an AU on other of my parents accounts.

Other than the Blue Cash Everyday, I could be added onto:

Best Buy MasterCard

Chase Amazon

Chase Freedom

Chase Ink Cash (my understanding that being added to this card would be an employee account - meaning that it wouldn't be reported)

Citi Dividend Platinum Select (will there be 5% rotating cashback in 2015?)

Citi ThankYou Preferred

Fidelity Investments AMEX Gold (assuming AMEX Credit Reporting was correct - this card wouldn't be report for me)

Fidelity Investments MBNA MasterCard (unsure if this would report or not)

——————
Would you all recommend me being added to any of the cards stated above? The cards are all paid in full each month - no late payments in history of account.

Thanks again!!

Re: Please Help!

@FixingMyCreditASAP - About how long did you have the secured Harley Davidson Visa until you were first approved for an unsecured card?

Re: Please Help!

@Refugee47 - What would a decent income be considered?

@Petrovius - my parents are not primary members of an FCU. Both my sister and I are members of an FCU and our parents are joint account holders on both my sisters and my accounts (savings and checking)

Re: Please Help!

UPDATE!!!

Before I was added to the Discover it I had checked with Chase, Citi, Bank of America, and AMEX for Pre-Qualified Offers and there was nothing.

Also before being added to Discover, Credit Karma said there was not enough information in your credit report to generate a credit score (aka "thin file").

I wanted to see if after being added as an AU to the Discover if it helped at all yet........

I went online to Chase to check for Pre-Qualified Offers and it said I was Pre-Qualified for the Freedom.  It also said that the Slate and Saphire Preferred were Great Pre-Qualified Offers.  Since Chase gave me those Pre-Qualified Offers, I quickly checked with AMEX, Bank of America, and Citi to see if they had any Pre-Qualified Offers and they did not.

Since Chase said I was Pre-Qualified for Freedom, I checked my Credit Karma account and Credit Karma says, "Unfortunately, we are unable to provide your credit score at this time because your TransUnion credit report indicates you have a thin credit file."

Is this a good sign?  Should I consider just going for the Freedom or should I wait?  I honestly do not care about sign-up bonuses at this point in time.

Keep in mind CK is paid by the CC for bringing in apps, i'm sure there are instances where they have a valid offer, but if you already KNOW that your file is thin you are setting yourself up for a rejection. I would just get on as an AU on your folks Amex Blue and after a few months of verifed reporting you should be good to go.

By the way most website pre-quals are usually not worth much, but I have read that the ones from the Chase website are pretty good..... Good Luck.
