Pondering adding some Barclay to my wallet, maybe a Citi AA Exec, maybe scrap a couple of toy cards

Pondering adding a Barclay card (or two) to my portfolio. I have Sallie at 20k, just got autoCLI and manual APR reduction this month. TU New Account is 688 per Cap1 at the start of the month, TU FICO per Barclay was 665 per Discover and Barclay. 64% util and dropping across the board, about 60% on my Sallie card. Barclay Prequal gave "might interest you" on Arrival and Ring, no actual prequals tho.

I've seen a few reports that they'll do two apps on one HP within 24 hours.

I was pondering the Apple card (Ipad Pro in my future, maybe a modern Mac Mini too).

Arrival Plus looks tempting as well, although CashForward could make a good replacement for my Cap1 QS and my BofA Cash Rewards card (each of which are less than half my VS credit line).

I'm likely to go for the Citi AAdvantage Executive card next year since I will probably have ten AA flights, 2-3 or more cross-country and maybe a codeshare to Australia. So if I didn't get Arrival+ I wouldn't be too disappointed.

Looks like the consensus is that order of application doesn't really matter.

Anyone have thoughts, suggestions, etc?

Lower your util significantly before applying.

Yes, absolutely! That will also raise your scores. Then do your apping. You will be happier with the outcomes of approval, credit limits and apr.

Probably just what I needed to hear... I think I can wait 2-3 months. Smiley Happy

Thanks.
