Possible changes to Navy CLI process

Went for what should have been my last and final CLI on my Flagship card. Currently at $74k and waited 195 days since my last request, going for 80k max.

In the past (not including Covid specials), I have been walking the increase ladder always requesting 8k and getting instant approval. This time, however, I can see some changes (I think):

  • Verification of contact info before proceeding (dont remember that from before)
  • Verification of employer name, I remember just doing gross annual but not re-entering employeer.
  • No more amount to request, looks like they now determine the increase
  • HP language (but I have all 3 frozen, as I've had in the past)
  • My observations via browser, so I don't know what mobile process looks like atm

I got the decision pending message, so we'll see, oh well. I'm right there, cmon Navy just bump it!

At $80k, you have sign a 4 year commitment to a Sub Tender stationed in Diego Garcia.

these changes happened a bit ago, so far seems everything is still good

requests are automatically considered for the maximum allowed 3x/$8k whichever is less

requests are still SP if done through the app/website (still keep everything frozen, ofc)

requests are seemingly more often going to pending instead of instant approval

requests still can, I believe, put people over $80k which will cause a correction back down to $80k, hopefully with yours going to pending, they added a line of code to stop that

nothing to worry about, IMO

now if they want to add apply with confidence to their cc apps, which they should really want to do if they're really committed to their subprime customers like they say they are, I'd be all for that

Re: Possible changes to Navy CLI process

My CLI request on my Cash Rewards Plus was instant approval for $8,000. My CLI request on my Flagship went to under review. Two days later I noticed the $8,000 increase. They seem to be slower than normal right now.
