I have never gotten a pre-approval on their website but it is only for a $500 secured card with all the benefits of the unsecured It card. However been gardening with a $2K Ollo card and a $2250 Mercury card. Is it worth it to take the Discover offer? Chapter 7 discharge in July 2021. Scores are climbing to almost 690.
Personally, I would hold off, unless you really need it? ..

I agree with the others. Unless you really need it I would hold off until you can get an unsecured one. I am sure with your other cards you will do fine without a Discover for now. I will admit it is a great card, I have two but many of my other MC and Visa cards are just as good.
Thanks

Personally, I think getting the Discover card would be a good move. Even though it is secured, just getting your foot in the door with Discover is a good thing. At some point, you're undoubtedly going to be able to graduate to one of their unsecured cards. Meanwhile, you're building history and a relationship with a great bank. I'm guessing there's a hard pull involved and, yes, it will cause a minor dip in your scores, but in the scheme of things I think it's worth it.

I say go for it. I started off with a $200 limit secured Discover that eventually graduated and has grown 25X over the past 5 years. Was even able to open a 2nd unsecured Discover. As long as you're good to Ms. Disco, she'll be good to you.
