Yes, they do it all the time....you may fit group A where the terms may be 17% APR and $0% for 12 months VS Group B that's offerd 22%APR $0% 6 months
So, my recent payments posted and I applied for the card. I was approved with a $2k limit! This is very good as now my total available credit almost doubles ($2800>$4800) Now my UT will not be quite so volatile. The one interesting thig I noticed is I had received a mailed offer and then an emailed one a week or so later. The emailed one had a slightly higher APR and that's the one it went with. Not a huge deal as my APR's are high as it is.
They're the lender they can do what they want as long as it's legal. I've seen mailed offers for the Platinum with 0% APR for 12 months.
