I have 6 month of credit history , 710 TU and 722EX ,
on Chase website I am prequalified for Chase Freedom and Slate, I would like to get the Sapphire preferred, should I try ?
now I have cap-on 900$, merrick 500$ (should be 1000$ in 2 month), Amazon 3000$ , Gap 1000$, Amex Green NSLP.
Income is 120k.
I would like Sapphire because for travel and because has no foreign fee.
thanks
Pier
Chase has the 5/24 rule, but if you have a prequalify, then go for it. All they can do is say "no".
thanks, I could try for the Sapphire or Freedom? , in prequalify they said only Freedom and Slate. I would like the Sapphire, maybe in the application the income could help . Amazon and Gap are store card I maybe are not in 5/24 ?

If they are credit cards, they are credit cards and thus contribute towards Chase's "5 or more credit cards opened in the past 24 months" denial reason.
you are right but this is strange: I am looking in my experian record, and Cap one, Merrick and Amex are type= credit card.
Amazon and Gap are type = charge card. or charge account

I think that they also count store cards in the mix. With you EX score, why aren't you going after the BCE or BCP? BCP offer 6% cash back on groceries, 3% gasoline and 1% everywhere else while the BCE offers 3/2/1. The CSP is superior on points, but your EX score puts you in a good position for a higher Amex SL As for your transunion score,, Barclay and Discover Card should be viable options.
As one of the people who bypassed the 5/24 rule by getting a freedom on monday I can tell you you should take it if you want it. I wouldn't app for the CSP if you're not pre approved
