How "recent" would you say most pre-approved offers are on card websites?
i currently have scores of 728, 721, 727 but I also have a recent 30 day late (Dec. 2014).
The Chase prequalified section for me lists the Freedom prominently, but also gives me the Slate and the CSP under "more great prequalified offers for you."
So, is it possible that Chase checked on me, say 6 months ago before the 30 day late and their prequalification of me now is dated? Or do they update their information much more frequently than that? I've PIF all three cards I have and all are reporting zero balances except one, reporting $10 bucks. Also, I have a six figure income.
basically I want the CSP but I'm worried about the 30 day late. If chase knows about that 30 day late and has still prequalified me then I would feel pretty good about applying.
I don't know about Chase, they gave me a pre qualifier for the Freedom and I know I do not qualify. Although Capital One is very good with their results.
If you can take a HP I would go for it and if you don't get an instant approval you may have a good chance of recon with Chase. Your scores look good and you have the offers........if the rest of your report is clean.....I would go for it. However,..........I am on my way to the casino this week-end
Chase SP your TU to pre qualify you. When you app they double pull most of the time.
EX & TU or EQ & TU
when I app March 8th they pulled on my TU Cus my other 2 reports was froze.
I app thru the prequalified offer and got the TU only pull
Every week? That's amazing! They have most likely checked me recently then!
I don't know how often they update, but I would say maybe, I say MAYBE, for some it's daily.
I say this because with my recent DW app spree, she was never pre-qualified for anything with Chase. Then her reports finally updated to a 0 balance on a card that was 5415/6000. Once it did, that same day it updated, I checked Chase again and it showed Freedom and Slate. Needless to say she started the spree with Freedom and got it.
So it may be a YMMV thing, dunno.
Also, just from what I have read on these forums, Chase's and Capital One's pre-qual are pretty spot on. Now of course nothing is 100% guaranteed, but with those 2 it is almost that.
Hope this helps
