It's always a good idea to do this. At the very least, someone will hear you out, find out why you want what you want and hopefully try and sway the odds into your favor. At most, they'll approve you with high CL. Always be kind with them!

Use any door you can get into and make it known how much you want this to go through. I'd do the backdoor because it's puts you directly in contact with someone who has a lot of pull but the regular CS number could work and they can get you to a supervisor if needed.

Not to encourage you or give you false hope but I would call the backdoor number and speak to a different person. Make it clear that you've already spoken with customer service and that they are unable to give you more information. Ask if there's any information you can provide them that can help them approve you.
