Preselected Bank of Americard Cash Rewards

DH received a preselected mailer for a Bank of Americard Cash Rewards Visa yesterday! From what I can see from researching the forum is that it's a solid offer. However, we're iffy on whether to not to apply.

Does anyone here know which CB that Bank of America pulls for their CCs? He only shows a CS on 1 report and is in the beginnings of rebuilding his credit. I'm guessing they saw his payment (we bank with BofA) to Capital One for a new secured card. He's still awaiting that card along with another secured card from a local CU in the mail.

I'm not sure which CB they pull from, but you can test the waters with their prequal site.

They tend to pull Experian on new apps, and I believe TransUnion on CLI requests.

They do pull Ex. His file looks weak and this card has declined numerous people with fatter files and higher scores than your hubby.

Preselected is not the same as prequalified. He can try if he wants. What is his utilization and age of accounts? Any derogs on Ex?

I had to recon for mine.  

I wanted the 123 Card BAD.  It fits my spending.  So...if he decides to app, be prepared to possibly Recon.

I was approved for $1000 with a 648 EX Fico8 no recon. If they sent you Pre-Qualified offers your husband probably has a good chance'

Pulled Exp on me.. Approved with 675.

As noted above the usual CRA's are EX for new applications and TU for CLI requests.

@Swampy99 According to DH Experian, there's no score, no derogs, 2 satisfied loans 13 years old, 2 recent inquiries and no revolving accounts as of yet.

I have a feeling he won't be able to acquire this card either but it's nice to see he's getting preselected. That's one step closer to prequalified lol!

With bank of America, if you are prequalified it will show up in your online account. Check the special offers section and it will be there. Everytime I log into my account I get a prequal thing on the side bar also.
