Hola forums,
Looking for advice/experiences on a successful PC QS1 --> QS.
I started off with two Cap1 accounts: Platinum and a QS1. Platinum is 10 months old, QS1 is 8 months old. A couple of months ago I PC'd my Platinum to a QS1, and asked for my QS1 to go to a regular QS. Denied by online chat - they said it was too new (I don't think the 6th statement had cut yet...).
QS1 account is 8 statements old now, same age my Platinum was when I PC'd to a QS1. This morning I got on the secure chat, and asked again to have my QS1 upgraded to a QS. The agent started talking about how they had just recently upgraded me to a QS1, so the account wasn't eligible. I pointed out that he was looking at the wrong account, but he kept saying that it wasn't eligible. I politely pointed out to him that I have other cards with rewards and no annual fee, so I'd like my Capital One card to be competitive. Still got stonewalled!
Was the agent being truthful? I was under the impression that PC's can happen after 6 statements were cut, and clearly, I was able to do it a couple of months ago. I know going from a Platinum to a QS1 isn't much of a risk for them, but maybe they don't like to go from a QS1 to a QS...
So, in a nutshell. does anyone have any experience with a successful PC from a QS1 to a QS?

I would try again.
I think (not sure though) that the minimum credit line for the Quicksilver is $3K so you would have to have at least that before you can product change.
Also, when you product change it will always remain a MasterCard ie, Quicksilver One MasterCard > Quicksilver MasterCard/World MasterCard/World Elite MasterCard.

Thanks for the info. I'm currently at 2k for a credit limit on one of them, so I guess I might have to wait for a CLI to get the PC.
I'm prefectly OK with it remaining a MasterCard.
Did you try the prequal for a NEW QS? If not, try it and report back...

The only card the CO prequalifer has ever recommended for me is the secured card, lol.
I did a cold app a few days ago for a regular QS, and a Venture One - both came back declined. Capital One doesn't seem to want to extend any more credit lines to me at this time.
What were the reasons given for denial?

No idea.
When I use the link to view the denial reason, the letters aren't there. I'll have to wait for the physical mail.
PC from QS1 to QS is both possible and very common. If you are not given the option, your score or history is not satisfactory enough. Garden and be patient.
Cap One can be strange. I had 3 cards with them (through Orchard, Household and one direct from Cap One). I just closed the one from Household as they would not do much for CLI and would not drop the AF (900 cl). The Orchard card AF is due up next month, so I will see what they say about that one. However I just recently received a Venture from them with a 15,000 SL, instant approval. So they like me enough for that, but not enough to increase CL or PC my older accounts (8-10 years old).
I think they often like to see new accounts as opposed to changes to current ones, but that is just my experience with them.
I had the QS1 card for like a year and more recently my credit scores have been going up a lot. I decided to talk to them too and they told me they couldn't change me from QS1 to QS.
I would wait to get your credit scores higher like mentioned above then just apply for a new QS card. I did that this month and they approved me for $10K and my QS1 card has a CL of $2,500. I'm going to pay off the QS1 little balance I have left, then stop using the card
