It shouldn't have too much effect on your eligibility I barely use mine, but what might happen is they might want to see more of your usage patterns in the first few months so I wouldn't worry too much if any of them decline CLI in the first 6 months or so since your file is still young. You should be able to convert it in 3 months, that's around when I got mine converted via live chat. It only took a few minutes and was relatively painless. Godspeed!
I havn't had any ask directly, but Comenity did say one way to verify my identity could be my bank statement. It was a very good month then, and I sent it, so it showed them what income I had coming in. My cousin has had to show income verification before, with many banks, I think becuase his casino dispursements are near half a million a year, they wanted to make sure he wasn't joking around, which is understandable. One of my customers has never had to show income verification, but their credit scores are in the mid 800's.
@Anonymous wrote:Hey guys,
When you guys applied, how many CCC (credit card companies) actually asked you for proof of income?
I app'd for 3 and none of them asked me for proof. Is there any reason why they ask some people and don't ask others?
Regards,
I have never been asked in 30 + years. Credit score and credit line amount do play a role in whether a person is asked.
Also, I understand some prestige cards will require POI over a certain credit line regardless of score. I doubt anyone could get an AMEX black by credit score alone.
P.S. AMEX Green is my prestige card - 31 years and counting.

Cap1 asks me for income verification every, single, time.
LOL, that really sucks! Even when you applied for the card?

Yes, and they only take mail or fax. I haven't been asked for proof by any other lender. Well maybe one or two asked for bank statements years ago.

Why is that......
Haven't seen a lot of people saying cap one asks for verification of income.

Its rare for Cap1 to ask, its also the reason they claim for their triple pulling.
Cap1 are the only ones who asked me for income verification as well, granted, Cap1 was my first CC so that's probably why (and they did accept a letter from my employer stating my income as proof). However, even after near four years of being with them they still recently asked me for IV for a SP CLI.
JCB and Simmons both asked, and as far as I know, they always do. Simmons will call the employer to verify.
