Put an 8k CSP in my wallet this week but Target....

Gave me a 7-10 day message.  Humph.  So I've been chilling and waiting for their STUPID letter so I can recon.  I just wanted a few hundred dollar limit so my Target habit can be 5% cheaper.

Chase will build me up with 15k in credit but these guys don't want to touch me.  Really guys?  Really?  Not even $500 or $1,000?

Pffffft!!!!!  )))End of Rant))))

Re: Put an 8k CSP in my wallet this week but Target....

Someone talked to a underwriter for Target (TD Bank) and they said that if you have 6 or more inquiries in the last 90 days then it's a automatic denial. I would check your reports to see if that could be the reason. I applied for Target on the 5th and my EQ score is not that great right now but before I applied I ws counting inquiries in my head lol while filling out the app All together my EQ (what they pulled) has ALOT of INQs like over 15 from before I joined MyFico but in the last 90 days I only had 1 (plus the target) and I was approved and only for $300. I seen people get denied with high scores because they had more then 6 INQ in the last 90 days.

Target Debit Card and Prepaid card also gives you all the benefits of the credit card including the 5%. That's honestly the better option because target likes to throw out small CLs. I have seen people in the 700s get $300-$500 from Target. I actually regret applying for mine Smiley Sad but good luck in whatever you decide!

Target is notorious for terminal limits and nonsensical U/W standards. Smiley Happy

I don't see why not just do the target debit... makes more sense since no HP for that.

+1 I have the debit card to save 5% and it works just fine. Smiley Wink

Forget Target. Friends say they never give CLI's, unlike Walmart.

Re: Put an 8k CSP in my wallet this week but Target....

The only reason is for asset protection reasons.  I put my debit card in the safe and I have left it there ever since I got enough credit that I didn't need to use it for monthly expenses.  If my debit card info was stolen I have too much to lose and I have greater protection with a credit card.

Haven't seen that card in six months- and I'm not itching to replace it with a different debit for the same reason.
