Did you try and call and please your case? Check out this thread http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-Cards/Need-Help-w-Capital-One-Backdoor-BoA-Reconsideration-Su...
The problem with Cap1 is that all of their decisions seem to be made by a computer, and the computer doesn't know why your payment was returned - it just knows that it was returned. Calling would probably not do any good because when it comes to CLIs, their CSR just seem to go by the computer decision as well. You will more than likely have to wait until more time has passed since the returned payment, but it never hurts to call and at least try.
Yes, there sure is! I had this happen when we had fraud in our checking account. BOA instantly closed it and opened up another. I told them about the pending payments on autopay. They missed like 3 of them. Got notices from all and went directly to the bank. Told them. They wrote letters out to all 3 and they took off the late or insufficient funds and late charges, Also received letters from all 3 cc's that everything was resolved.
CAP1 will do a manual review for a CLI. My case was different, but nonetheless, they will do a manual review. I was recently declined a CLI based on lack of payment history (card was basically SD). I called the main line on the back of my card and pleaded my case, I was still denied the CLI but they offered to do a manual review by the underwriters and I said please do. After about 5 days I received a 3x increase.
Yes, I called the number on the back of my card. I spoke with someone who first did a PC on my card, from a Platinum to a QS1. I then asked to be reconsidered for the CLI. They told me to request the CLI on the web site. I told them that i've already done that as was declined. The first person said there's nothing they can do. I asked to be transferred to someone who can help with my request to be reconsidered for a CLI. I was transferred to another agent. This person reiterated that I was denied and can try again in 6 months. I asked if there was anyone else I could speak with, they said no, but they could request a manual review of my CLI request. I asked them to proceed with the manual review for a CLI. I received an e-mail from Cap1 about 5 days later informing me that I was approved for a 3x CLI. I requested initially a 4x CLI, they asked if that amount wasn't approved would I accept a lower amount if approved, I agreed to that.
