Question - Applying for Paypal Credit

Quick question. How do I go about applying for Paypal Credit? I want to ensure I don't end up with a toy limit. I have heard of others applying when purchasing something large to force a bigger limit. Do I actually have to buy something if I do it this way? Thanks for the help Smiley Happy

Re: Question - Applying for Paypal Credit

You also run the risk of getting denied, if it looks like you're going to buy something pricey ...

Judging by the limits on the cards in your signature, I'm not sure apping for PP right now would get you the limit you desire. If you can, I'd wait. Though if your scores and income support it, there's always a chance.

I'm tempted by the PP credit too ... the 2% back is appealing, but like you, I'd like a nice limit, so I'm waiting.

Good Income and scores ranging from 660-694 with TU being my highest. It is very tempting to apply. I want that hidden tradeline! lol

I think the OP is talking about PayPal Credit (formerly called Bill Me Later), you are talking about the PayPal Mastercard. Very different products issued by different banks.

I agree with your consensus though, the OP really should work on improving their credit before applying for anything more.

Re: Question - Applying for Paypal Credit

My impression from looking up the terms on Paypal a few days ago is that, if you're not buying anything at the time that you apply, Comenity gives you a $250 SL; if you're buying something, they generally approve you for the amount of whatever you're buying and then increase the credit limit as you shop for more things.

Re: Question - Applying for Paypal Credit

Thank you! I decided to app and was approved for $1750! I'm happy with this SL. It was more than I was expecting.

How do you meet the spend requirements without paying anything?!!

I applied for this a week or two ago and got $5500 instant approval, on it's own - not with a purchase.
