Hi guys, first post after lurking here for a long time.
I just got off the phone with the Amex CLI CSR regarding some questions I had and I want to check with you guys if the answer I got matches the experiences you guys might have had.
I got my BCE card CLI'ed in December and received my SPG card in Jan. I unsuccessfully tried to transfer my limit from my BCE to my SPG in Jan (I didn't know it would've counted as a CLI request then). So apparently, according to the CSR, I can apply for a CLI on my SPG in April (90 days after being declined) and another CLI for my BCE in May.
I was always under the assumption that the CLI clock is account wide instead being an individual card clock. Do you think I should try applying for that CLI on my SPG in April? I don't want to get denied and have to wait another 90 days after that which would honestly be very annoying.

Welcome to the forums and apologies for the delay in you getting a response to you question.
All Amex CLI rules apply account wide so the CSR gave you incorrect info. The wait after a decline is indeed 91 days. If you apply for a CLI on your SPG card in April and receive any raise to your limit, you would have to wait 181 days to try for a CLI again on either the SPG or BCE card. Therefore, you wouldnt be eligible for any addiitonal CLIs in May. As for whether you should try, that's entirely up to you but even if you're denied, waiting another 91 days really isn't that long. Hope this helps and good luck whatever route you take.
