Question about Amex pop ups

Where do you see these pop up offers at?

on the app in my list of transactions it says "you can go platinum" earn 80,000 bonus points..

is this considered an offer or an advertisement ?

it's an ad, but when you go to apply it might say

"Name, you are pre-approved!" - very likely to be approved

or 

"Applying to expand your Card Membership with us is easy, name!" - much less certain of an approval

do look for a better offer on the platinum than 80k points

try finding 120k points or 150k+ points or 120k points + $200 statement credit at least, 6k spend is a lot and you only get one chance at a platinum bonus every 7 years or longer

I haven't seen 125K offer in over 2 months now. but if all else fails, you can apply through resy and get 100K mr offer if you need the card asap.

I don't necessarily need the card asap.  I'm working on a venture sub currently anyways...  but I wouldn't be mad about adding a gold or platinum to my wallet at some point in the future.   Honestly I need to wait for the last baddie to fall off my report.  Less than 6 months until it does !

now isn't the best time for amex subs anyway. back in April when you could do 150k+200 plat or 90K + 200 Gold was when to do it 

rampant pop-up jail, particularly for the elevated green card SUB, they just got rid of the SUB points/cash for bbp and bbc, amex sub train slowing down for now, I agree with waiting

The 7 year figure quoted a lot more than there are reports that 7 years is actually the case.

More to the point though is that the lifetime restriction is specific to the individual version of the Platinum card that was held.  As an example if you can - and people do - avoid pop-up jail and get approved for a vanilla Platinum and then a Schwab Platinum a year later you'll collect both SUBs as long as you meet the spend requirements on both cards.
