I applied and was approved for a Chase Sapphire Preferred on Saturday and was thinking about getting the Chase Freedom today. My question is would it be a new inquiry or can they use the one from Saturday to approve?
@Anonymous,
It will definately be a new inquiry.
They're gonna do another pull. Even if you call CSR and tell them about your recent application/report, their procedure is to HP every app; they have accounts with the bureaus so its in their interests to use them.
Also, you might want to reconsider calling them about your recent approval/report because they will then be in the position to make a direct judgment as to whether to open another cc account with you as opposed to just letting your automated report scores/history fend for itself. It could go either way though. Good luck.
Same day - If you're lucky like me 2 cards per pull or set of pulls.
A few days - Go out and buy a lottery ticket if you get the same result.
I would have applied the same day
They pulled trans and exp for one card for me twice. Applied for freedom and they pulled both then 2 weeks later applied for CSP and pulled both trans and exp again, approved for both so it is what it is. Also my CSP was almost twice the limit as my freedom.

As stated above, this is not necessarily true with Chase. Chase pulled me when I applied for the Freedom, but did not pull me again when they approved me for the AARP two weeks later. (Maybe Chase felt bad for me for double pulling me on my Freedom application...Or the more likely explanation, I got lucky. Lol.)
In all likelihood though, OP, you will probably, but not necessarily be double pulled. It appears to be a relatively rare event.
