Question about inquiries

does inquiries mean soft pull pre approval checks. I've been doing them for chase once a week. Because I am just tired of them taking so long to give me preapprovals, since I bank with them and am pretty finicially stable for a college student and film major.

Also the declined discover cli letter. Said everything I thought it would. All related to the authorized card. Besides the new inquires one. ALSO Mainly this, the ACCOUNT IS STILL TO NEW??

Sometimes SPs mean that they are checking your file for preapproval checks but not always  Why are you so concerned about preapprovals?  They don't mean that you will be approved.  What you should be doing is checking your existing credit and compare that to what Chase is looking for.  If your credit is such that it meets their criteria then apply.  Many people never get preapprovals, myself included, and they still manage to get approved.  If your credit isn't strong enough tobe approved for Chase products then you need to work on improving it.

Re: Question about inquiries

I would consider my credit profile very strong for starting of besides the authorized card. Just I know to wait a year to apply for a chase card, from this forum.

That's true that they normally want to see history of a year.  When that happens don't over focus on auto approvals from Chase or any other credit card company. First they don't guarantee that you will be approved and second many people never get them.

I am one of thouse  that never gets anything from Chase in the pre-approvals and in the meantime  have 3 Chase cards with cold apping. Can you give a bit more info on your credit profile? How many cards you have and how old these are. Is Discover the only card you have? If so how old is it?  I am sorry but  I do not quite understand your signature Smiley Surprised  What is it with the AU card ?
