Question about the Overstock.com SCT...

First, my apologies if this has already been covered. I did a search, but can't find the answer to my exact question. I fully accept i may simply be really bad at searching the forum. Judge me if you must.

My question is for future reference, since I'm gardening at the moment and not looking for new TLs, even if they are SPs.... Well, not actively, anyway.

I was making a purchase on Overstock tonight and I got the popup. It stated I was pre-approved, but didn't give a limit. It asked if I was interested, and I clicked that I was, mostlly just curious to see if they indicated a limit (yes, I would have probably accepted it if it wasn't a toy limit.)

The following page did not indicate any limit, and prompted for my full social. I backed out at that point, since my VS SCT gave a CL before I accepted, and only prompted for the last 4 of my social. I also don't recall VS asking if I was interested - everything was on the first page of the pop-up. Based on the differences, I was worried that the Overstock would result in a HP. And again, since I'm gardening...

I haven't been able to replicate the pop up (which I am ultimately fine with, since, in case I haven't already mentioned it, I'm supposed to be gardening.) But when I am in a spot to go for it, and *if* I can get it to reappear, can anyone confirm if this was, in fact, the SP SCT pop-up? I thought all the SCTs gave the approval amount and all you had to do was enter the last 4 of your social, but I don't want to miss out on the Overstock one (when the time is right!) just because it's slightly different.

Clear brower history or try different browser. Overstock "sct" is soft pull and provided your stated income can support it, usually a generous CL. YMMV so far this is the only SCT I have accepted and got 4k CL before luv button...

I'm not really worried about getting it to work right now - I just want to confirm that when it does pop, that the pop-up won't include a CL, and that I will be prompted for a full social and that it will still be a SP. What happened tonight was different than what I recall happening with the VS SCT, which gave me a CL amount right up front, and only requested the last 4 of my social.

Yes! overstock will pop up with no credit limit and won't tell you your CL till the very end (after your accept their offer) even though they ask for your whole social it is still a SP. A couple months ago when everyone started getting the Overstock pop up there were quite a few people scared because it does ask for your whole social instead of the last 4 but many people have confirmed it is a SP. Overstock also gives out pretty decent starting limits! I have a VS so the experience with the overstock pop up is different.

Now the only thing is Overstock can be very very hard to get to Pop up again. I got a the POp up a couple months ago (it also didn't say a credit limit) but decided to not go for it then. I researched as much as I could about them though (how i know its a SP) and recently decided I wanted a Overstock Card. I have been trying for awhile and can't get it to pop up

my score has gone up 50 points since I got the pop up last, but I did read that overstock is a tough one sometime to pop up. I hope this helps!

That is a huge help, and exactly what I was looking to find out! It was that full social that spooked me.

And of course, since you said that the pop up is hard to get back once offered, I took it as a challenge and went on a mission... as you can see from my sig line, I was successful (and, back in the garden. I don't feel too badly about it, since I was only there a week, and this was a SP.)

I followed 1fstgixer's advice, but that didn't work for me. However, I happen to have a couple of laptops, so I took his advice a step further and fired up my other laptop (which wouldn't have any OS cookies) and voila! There it was!

Instant approval for $750, created my online access and requested increase, granted another $200 (which seems par for the course from what I'm reading.)

So, thank you both for the assist. And back to the garden - for real - this time!

Congrats! I actually got it to work a few months ago on my old Samsung Galaxy s5. I have tried recently on my laptop (2 different browsers plus tried it in private mode), tried it on my new galaxy note, tried it on my iPhone 6, tried it on my iPad and still can not get it work. I still have my Galaxy s5 that it worked on a few months ago but the charger broke I'm half tempted to buy a new charger just to get the Pop up because it's driving me crazy lol

if you don't mind me asking what was your EQ score? Mine is 645 (lowest score out of all my reports) and that's the report they SP you on and just wondering what type of CL I can expect once I get the pop up. Congrats again!!

And I don't mind you asking at all (I hope not, since I have my scores posted in my siggy!) My EQ is the 626 in my siggy. My EQ Bankcard 8 score is 624 - not sure which they pull. But with your score, I have to imagine you're eligible for same ($750 + $200 instant CLI through love button) if not more. Not quite as large as some have reported lately,to be sure, but I'm happy with the limit. I didn't go crazy with the SCT since I don't really shop at any of the stores that have it - the Angel card I got because I like that I can use it at Bath and Body Works. And Overstock, since I will use it after my upcoming move in a few months. The only other one I can think of considering would be Pier1, but that one is definitely after I garden enough to successfully app for Barclay and Discover.

It's a bummer you have tried it on other devices to no avail. You've tried to clear the cookies/cache on those other devices, and made sure popups are enabled for Overstock? My only other thought is if you have a friend's computer/laptop you could try (not a tablet or mobile device?) When I tried it on my other laptop, I made sure to use IE (I use chrome almost exclusively, and I have the same chrome profile on both laptops.) I was loathe to do it, because IE, but, you know, I was on a mission from Gawd. I also began my purchase as a guest, even though I have an overstock.com account. As soon as I put in my billing address, there it was. I'm rooting for you on this. Good luck!

Thanks! And that is good to know! Although I'm happy with the limit, I plan to put it through some heavy use for a while. My move is going to be cross-country, and I plan to travel light, so I'll be needing to get/replace quite a bit. All the better if I can build up that CL for when I land back east!
