I'm guessing if I was approved for a Venture at all, it would be for 5k - but I'd have the bonus of it being my first Visa Sig card, which would be nice. Or maybe it'd really surprise me and give me some random higher limit like I've seen other people get with scores similar to mine. I saw that someone once got a $500 card of some type with Cap1, but was approved for a 15k Venture card the same day, I think. Crazy!
with an $8k QS1, I would think Venture would give you over $10k

672 EX / 690 TU and 686 EQ. Approved for both within 2 weeks. Venture $15k and Venture One $7.5k. DW also got Venture for $20k and Venture One for $10k, with slightly lower scores at the time.

What were your starting limits, and were you approved for both? (or approved for one and declined for the other?)
I have a Venture One with a 3k starting limit. I've heard both cards have the same underwriting, so I might have a chance at the regular Venture as well? I'd love to try for that and then combine the limits six months from now.
One other question: My Eq is my lowest score, and on my Venture One approval letter they had it listed even lower (637). I've heard some have had luck apping with Eq frozen... would it be a good idea to do that before I app again, and is the freeze immediate if I do?
Venture one 7.5k
Venture one 5k
Vwnture 10k
Well, if approved I'd have my first Visa Sig, and could combine my two Ventures in six months. That would give me one visa/miles card and one mc/everyday card with Cap1.
The only reason I'm even considering apping at all at this time is because of the higher limits they seem to be giving out for subpar scores. My thought is that having a higher limit card now can help me land higher limits with other lenders in another year or two. I'll be gardening after this go'round for a long time!
Gospel:
You do NOT need >700 scores for ANY Cap1 card however, SL will be influnced by scores.
No one on these forums can definitively attest to underwriting differences on QS, V or V1
Venture - 15k May 2015
Venture - 15k June 2015
VentureOne - 10k May 2015
I applied for the 1st Venture and Venture one on the same day. All 3 were prequalified. Met my spend on all 3 100k points!
Hehe... and I felt bad for having three within six months.
I can't talk though, since that might turn into four soon. Trying to put more thought into it. (since I plan to garden for a good year or two, the HP probably won't matter though.)
