With US Bank, what are they like regarding CLI? I've been banking with them since 2012 and have 2 credit cards with them. One was opened 2013 and the other a year later in 2014. Both were opened in March. I have just been approved for 3 new cards, but my banking relationship with them is impeccable. I always pay on my credit cards. I have direct deposit so they know my income which is about 44k. I also recently paid both of my cards with them completely off. I applied on the 12th and am still waiting to hear back so I'm just wondering the odds I'll get one.
On to Wells Fargo, I applied for their college card. I was declined because of newly opened accounts and too much available credit. Now I use about 3-4 cards, but have 15k in available credit. I have 5 store cards with limits over 2k (auto cli) so I rarely use them. Should I call for a recon to the EO (already called the account specialist) or take their suggestion and apply for their secure card? I only really want their card because of the Cell Phone Protection they offer. I can pay to have the secured card, but would rather have it in my savings and not be paying a $25 annual fee.
Also, I want to apply for a card with USAA. How are they as a lender? Are they conservative or would they be willing to lend me credit? Also, what would be the best card to apply for?

Some people who have US Bank cards have gotten offers from them by email to have their limits increased. I don't think there was any HP involved there but I'm not sure if their normal CLI process is different. I have a Kroger card with US Bank but haven't requested any increases on it and have charged around $300-400 onto the card since I've had it.
Don't have experience with either US Bank or Wells Fargo. Have Platinum VISA card with USAA. Got $5000 cli. Have been working on rebuilding credit, so am happy with this limit. Won't hit 6 month mark with them until June. From reading the forums, no cli's for 6 months, but not sure about whether it is a hard pull or soft pull. They pulled experian on me and because I purchased a new vehicle last summer, got all those HPs so if it is a hard pull, I'll just have to be satisfied with me current limit. So far, I'm satisfied with USAA even though they are a conservative bank. Almost did auto loan with them, but got a better deal with BBVA. Since I was already a customer, they sent me a preapproval offer. Good luck.
Just to update, Wells Fargo denied me. Called to ask them to reconsider. Was told because I wasn't in the 720's and didn't have a banking relationship with them, they wouldn't overturn it. However, they did say they were going to send it to someone else to reconsider. They also suggested I apply for the secure card, but would have to have another hard pull. Planning on calling back tomorrow to see if they can use the one they just pulled. Anyone have any advice on Wells Fargo. I'm not going to lie, I only really want the card because of the celluar telephone protection feature. I haven't need such, but it still doesn't seem like a bad things to have. I would apply for their college card (which I was told I would be more likely to get), but it doesn't have that benefit.
US Bank said the computer denied it, but didn't give any reasons so they sent it to the underwriters to get a manual decision. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I have a good banking relationship (had my account since 2012 with them and added a credit card last year and the year before).
USAA called to ask me a couple more questions, but didn't say whether I was denied or approved. They said I would hear from someone in 2-3 business days.
Good luck on the USAA. I received instant approval from them because of my previous relationship with them. I have one baddie which continues to come up when I tried to apply for Discover Card and Barclays; it goes back to 2009. I've resigned myself to not apply for anymore prime cards for the next couple of years. Since I have a relationship with BBVA, I'm hoping that I'll get a pre-approval for their VISA card, otherwise I'll just be patient and wait for CLIs to come my way. Don't know how Wells Fargo is in your area, but where I'm from, it and BOA have bad reps, so I won't even try.
USuck bank, IMHO, isn't a loyal bank. I have/had 4 credit accts with them since 2012...totalling $31k, and direct deposit with them since '08.
I've a super silver premier checking or something like that...free money orders, wire transfers, checking, etc.....
And they CLD'd my $15k PLOC for carrying 50% utilization 2 months ago.....they cut it to 97.1% utiliz, it is now at 82%.
Long story really, point is, they didn't give aratsass about my banking history/relationship with them.

I'm sorry to hear about that. I've had an account with them since then as well and my family had accounts with them since they were firstar. Whenever I have a big problem and csr can't help, I email the ceo. I always hear back and have the personal phone number to about 3 managers that told me to call them if I have any more problems.
