Questions regarding NFCU?

Do you have to be active duty or in the reserves currently in order to be eligible to join NFCU? Also, is it a HP or SP for membership? Thanks.

If you are retired or have family retired or current you should be able to join.

It's a HP on EQ for membership and every credit product is a new hp no matter if they are all within minutes but usually VERY WORTH any amount of HP's to be with Navy!

Thanks creditaddict!  Need to get my brother's last 4 SS#, he's retired Army.  I started to complete the membership application for myself as I was in the Marines in the late 80's but i didn't retire.  Don't want to take a hard pull until i'm certain my mebership will be approved.

Re: Questions regarding NFCU?

Just joined NFCU through my brother who is active duty marine corps. Highly recommend joining! Their auto and mortgage rates are very low, and they offer high credit limits from what I've read.

Re: Questions regarding NFCU?

I just joined NFCU thru my Retired Mom, USAF. Have USAA and NFCU (so friggin happy) now to completely ditch US Bank and transfer 100%.

They stated that family members can join thru their Active duty OR retired DoD/US Military member. ALSO, the military member does NOT have to have an account with NFCU.

Addition to 2015 dating profiles: Single? Any children? … Do you have a 401k and/or any retirement planning? Are you a member of USAA? 😁

Re: Questions regarding NFCU?

Update - Yeah my NFCU Membership was approved. I opened a checking and savings account. Now time to contemplate a CC application?
