I just got denied for the Capital One Quicksilver. I have previously had a Journey so I have some history with them. I closed that card a while back because it wasn't growing with me even though I am still a college student. I never carried a balance on my Journey and always paid on time. I would like to resume building a relationship with Capital One.
I think they may have denied me because I reported $18,000 of income. Do you think it would help if I called and let them know that I am a student and I am currently on a full tuition academic scholarship (this was not included in my income)? I could also mention that I am an accounting major
I would try. You never know. And always put down total household income since it comes from 4 sources.

Did you check cap 1 site for pre qual?
To be matched to pre-qualified offers you have to be 21 years old.
I believe that law was put in place to stop credit card companies from marketing so hard towards college students who unfortunately don't usually know how to manage credit cards. Maybe they should just start teaching finance in high school and it would solve the problem.
You can't recon with CAP 1. Your best bet is to reach out to their EO to see if the decision will be overturned.
