Hello Everyone,
This is my first post on myfico. I have been reading through the forums quite a bit though. I got my first credit card (discover it) card in August and got a qs1 in December. Both with a starting limit of 500. I have been able to raise both credit lines to 1,500 each. My fico scores are TU 707, EQ 708, and EX 717. I contacted capital one via facebook in an attempt to pc to the no annual fee quicksilver card but after waiting about a week, I received a phone call today saying that there was no such offer available. Pretty dissapointing but understandable given my thin file. I am going to continue to work on getting more SP CLI's, I'm waiting on the 17 day mark for the discover it love button. My goal is to also get a Sallie Mae card, as well as some travel cards later on when I am able to spend enough to gain the huge bonuses. I am currently working full time for 40K and still able to live at home after graduating college to save some money. Any advice on how I can further build my credit profile and possibly get the quicksilver PC and Sallie Mae down the road would be awesome. Sorry for the long winded post. I'm excited to be part of the forum! Hopefully one day I will be part of the 800 club! ![]()

Welcome to the forums.
Time is your ally here. Because your credit age is just going on six months it might take a little bit more time for you to get new cards like the SM because I know Barclays likes to see some age on accounts. Other possibilities like Amex should start opening up. I'd start hitting the various pre approval sites to see if anything shows up. Do you belong to any credit unions or have the ability to join any? They can be great places to build a credit relationship and obtain cards with some higher limits.
I've had my discover since August, so I think that gives me a few more till I get to a year. I am not a part of any credit unions just trying to grow these two cards and hopefully get a few more in the coming years.
