Called this morning since I am due for a CLI from 22k to 30k. Previously, US Bank would instantly approve me online. This morning, after going through the CSR, then being transferred for further review and providing everything but my first born, then sitting on hold forever, then waiting on a callback that was promised 10-15 minutes later, and here it is 1.5 hours and still no callback.
This makes me remember why I cancelled all of my capital one credit cards.
Still no update on CLI yet.

Sorry they pulled you back in. I love REI, and it's really a shame they went to Capital One.
Agreed. No return call as promised today. I wont be using that card anymore.
Just got off the phone with Cap 1 as they never returned my call yesterday as promised. CSR kept trying to tell me what a great card this is, and I agreed with him, but, told him the customer service was not acceptable. I also told him what an insult it was to only be offered secured cards on the pre approval site and he told me to take it up with the credit bureau. I told him I know exactly what is on my credit reports as I look at them weekly. All my scores are mid to upper 700's and I already have some nice credit lines, so I had to tell him several times that I wanted this card closed. No love lost
Glad Capital One is gone now!

Yea I don't know why CSRs' go to response is always "take it up with the bureaus" lol. Not all issues are with the bureaus.
I had a great experience with my CLI request. US Bank bucketed me at $500. $I have other cards with upwards of 25K limits. Was never able to get a CLI from US Bank, so never really used the card. I called Cap1 today and they raised me up from $500 to $10,000 with just a couple very basic questions. The entire process was less than 3 minutes.
CapitalOne has always been great to me. US Bank is garbage and always has been. One of the worst in terms of customer service too. I am very happy with the switch.

EXACTLY my experience. I have had zero luck with USBank over the past few years and was stuck at the same $500 limit. Call right after the switch for a CLI and they asked how much I wanted. I didn't want to push my luck knowing I was dealing with CapOne so I said $10k, which was approved almost immediately. Should have said $20k. Next time...
@slither43 WHAT?!?! That's hard to believe. USBank I found was the most ridiculous to ask for an increase. I got the REI MC with a $6500 SL and tried twice this year and each time the screen froze and would tell me I already had a request in. Frustrating. Those rewards cards you get at the end of every year sure were fun tho. I want to close it now that it's with Cap One also, but I love the card. Makes me crazy.
Was it a hard pull or soft pull?

It is pretty bizarre how similar our stories are! I was planning on asking for a CLI as soon as CapOne took over because I wasn't willing to risk a hard pull with USBank. I went online and there was nowhere to ask. I went ahead and called and everything was done in a few minutes with just a soft pull. Now I can actually use the card again!
