Hi, I'm not sure if I should put this in Credit Cards or Credit Card Applications. I've seen similar in both sub-forums when searching.. thought I'd add here, so please add if needed. Thanks!
Best Buy closed their store card on me in November. This was my oldest (14 years 7 months at time of closing) and the one with the most CL ($7800). This was a joint account with my mother (because of my age) and after I purchased what I got the card for, it was used for Christmas presents yearly, until the first time it was closed (in 2015, as they switched companies). When it was re-opened it was used a few times/for Christmas again.. and I was just about to use it, which is how I found it was closed.
I have 3 negative acounts (the BB when it was closed while they swapped companies, a Target and a Furniture Fair (both paid off after getting sent to collections, as I didn't know they were open - since they both got stolen (in same wallet) and I paid the balance on them, then asked to have them closed. I didn't hear anything/receive anything either by e-mail or in the post for over 3 years, when they got sent to collections.. so the people I spoke with didn't close them as they were supposed to) - paid them off within the month of being notified about them. Whenever it's close to getting dropped from my report, someone checks on it, so they stay there.
I don't have many cards open (only 3) as I don't want to apply for any/all cards, and only ones I would use. I know the more, the better, but if I don't use the card and it gets closed, it would look bad as well. I know I should apply for a few more at least but I want to get my usage back down (as it's at 25% now that the BB Store card is closed)
I'd love to have my oldest card re-opened and all that information back on my report (as if I remember correctly, when it was reopened before it was exactly as it was when it closed). My score has dropped about 50+ points because of it closing, with that said, most people get hit with 3-10 points when applying for a new card and whenever I apply for a new card it's a 10-15 point drop (I'm not sure why, but it was the same even with the Best Buy card open). So, I try not to apply for new cards unless I have to.
Because it was a MyRewards Zone card and store only card, from everybody I've talked to it should've never been closed. Does anybody know who I would contact for it to be re-opened?
Thanks so much!
My newest FICO score, as of 12/12/2017, is in the low 770s (it's still showing my Best Buy store card open though). All other scores at CreditKarma, etc are in the low 700s (and none of them show the Best Buy card open).
My total CL before: $16,300 (I'm not counting the Discover in the total, as I was approved around the time BB closed)
My total CL after: $11,500 (I'm counting it as it was included in December)
Oldest Account before: 14 years 7 months / after: 1 year 7 months
Don’t think it’s still possible to re-open with that much time passed. Maybe less than 30 days. Maybe. At least nothing I’ve ever heard or read of. Most likely a new app and new acct if approved. Best of luck and pls let us know how it turns out.

Thanks! I wasn't sure or not as it has been a few months.. but noticed today that on CreditKarma, at least, I have the button to contact/dispute still. So thought I'd ask everybody on here, as I know how knowledgable everybody is and how helpful you are all.
As other poster stated CITI will not re-open an old account . I suggest if you want the card again to apply for it as scores are good or go for a better card that might suit your needs better, but once an account is closed it will remain on your CR for 10 years typically and continue to build AAoA
