If i were in your position and looking for a mortgage in 5 to 6 months I would rest where I was and not apply for anything else.  Just keep your utilization in line and allow things to age. Its not wise to have too many applications before applying for a mortgage. I would go ahead and close First Premier and Credit One since you have plenty of cards otherwise so there is no need to give them anymore money.

I would close FP and Credit1 and get move your current balances over to your new Discover and got all these other accounts reporting $0 balance so you will be ready for mortgage... DO NOT APPLY when you are within 6 months of mortgage which = NOW

say you applied and wanted to see if a decision had been made or you could answer any additional questions.
